EbonysMom | 09-01-2008 08:12 PM | Our Good Fortune!! I recently was looking on a internet site and found someone wanting to find a home for a yorkie. Before the ad got flagged, I contacted this person and spent a couple of weeks talking back and forth with her about this puppy. Turns out he was purchased at a pet store by a couple going thru marital problems. Right after he was purchased for $1000.00 the couple apparantly split and I assume it was not a good situation and thus this person's friend took the puppy hoping to take care of it for her friend and to eventually return it to her. That did not happen and so this person and her husband got the puppy all its shots and got him neutered. They have small children, live in a very affluent area and in a very large townhome with only sidewalks around. I believe they must both work and eventually decided this puppy would not work out for them. So that is why she put the ad out. I have a female yorkie, Dixie who is not quite five months old and my daughter have a male yorkie who is a couple of weeks younger. This little guy will be one year old on Oct. 1. The lady bought him to us on Sat. and he is just wonderful. Six pds of bouncy love and kisses. She bought me his registration papers that were never sent in registering anyone as his owner. Also his heartworm and topical flea tablets, records from the vet, food and other things, even the sale bill from the pet store who when I checked them out said they do not use breeders out of the area. I checked them out on the internet and BBB and could not find out anything bad about them. This little guy is gorgeous and so playful and only being a little older than ours is so good with them. WE figured out that he walks so well on a leash because he only got walked but was a little hesitant in our big back yard. We do not think he has ever been allowed to run on his own in a grassy area. We have only had him now for two days and we just are over the moon in love with him, have taken about a million pictures. I just cannot imagine anyone not wanting him. If the people did not have time for him I do understand that however I would have thought they would have known someone or worked with someone who upon mentioning that they wanted to find him a new home, someone would have wanted him right away. Hard for me to think this person had to resort to putting a ad for him. I believe we are so lucky to obtain this wonderful little dog. He is beautiful, so yorkie! The best part is we did not have to pay anything for him at all. She said we sounded like the perfect home full of love to give him and the money did not mean anything. I assured her this home would be his forever home and love would surround him daily. He is having such a great time playing with Dixie and Teddy and loving all the attention and holding and playing with him. Tell me isn't this good!!!!:) |
