| cinnamonmon | 09-01-2008 05:14 PM | My poor baby has sores on her tail and is biting at them constantly I feel so bad for her. She had been doing this on and off all summer but the last week its really been bad. I check her daily for fleas as everyone said that thes likely problem. Despite using a flea comb, I have not ever found one flea. I have two other dogs who have no problems with scratching either.
IThe last few days she will be sleeping peacefully and then wake up suddenly and bite ferociously at the area for a good long time. Tonight i looked closely at the back of her tail and she has several sores there...they are red, not really raised and have whitish centers. What could they be...are these what hot spots are, what causes them and what came I do to help her? What else could they be? I guess we will have to go to the vet again tomorrow...God I hate to spend the money when I know all he will do is give us Temeril P and do nothing else. The Temeril does seem to help a little but Id love to know what is causing this so she doesnt have to suffer anymore. Is there any spray or ointment I could use to help control the itching? Ive seen some of both at the petstore but I worry they could make her sick if she licks them and she will definitely lick the area |
