I also lost a Yorkie and Found him! Some years back my husband came home for lunch, and the dog slipped out past him w/o him noticing. I posted flyers EVERYWHERE! I also called the vet as the tag for rabies has your vet's name and number and there is a ref. # make sure and do that! All of the flyers w/pics and I mean a 3 mile radius of 50 flyers finally got my baby back. A family took him, saw my flyers, did NOT call and GAVE him to their daughter. Their next door neighbor saw me out one morning crying posting flyers again and called me because when they confronted the woman and she flat out said she was keeping him. We called her and then when she hung up on us we called the police and a friend from the police dept went to the house with us. When the dog came running to me there was nothing she could do. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! THIS SEEMED LIKE A NICE FAMILY IN A NICE NEIGHBORHOOD! So keep trying. It took us 3 weeks to get him back so keep trying. Also look at ads in case they are trying to sell him. People rationalize that a lose Yorkie must not be loved and so they think they are giving him a better home. You need to keep trying to prove them wrong! |
Thank you! I have been putting flyers EVERYWHERE! I went into a spanish community the other night putting those flyers up. Both in Spanish and English! Tomorrow morning I am hitting the flea market and seeing how many places will let me hang my flyers. She's out there and as much as I want her home I know she wants to come home to us. |
Oh bless your heart. I'm praying for your baby's safe return. Keep the faith. |
Don't be shy, and stop by all the hispanic stores in the area. Show people pictures. Post those pictures in hispanic markets, and offer a reward. Best places to post pictures: head start. child developenment, public schools, library, YMCA, Gas stations, spcs, vet offices, walmarts. Make a checklist, and make sure you cover all these places. Take a day off from work to do these. The police, might not be very helpful, but by filling a report, you will have documention of these episodes, in case of the court getting involve in the future(you just never know). I had talked about me finding some chinese inperial dogs in the past. The owners were looking in all the wrong places, and I was looking for lost dogs adds in different medias. They were belong to an indian family that lived just 4 blocks from me. almost two months past before I gave the right owners the dogs. Remember, you must cover all corners. I wish I could help. I would really help you if we were closed enough. Good luck |
These people might not even have internet access. If it were me, I would try to think of all the Spanish communities in your area. I know they are scattered out, they are here. But Spanish fast food restaurants, laundro-mats, Spanish grocery stores. Anywhere you think they might congregate. Sending you prayers and hugs, Denise. Oops we were posting the same idea at the same time... |
:hands: Prayers for Resques safe return. |
How about at the local churches to post flyers as well? I'm so glad that someone helped with the spanish translation of the signs! I knew that a YTer would pull through on that idea! Maybe a very large sign in your front yard might help too! |

Good luck! Keep us posted. |
Baihael, you're very welcome. If my Humphrey went missing I'd go nuts, I think I am more attached to him than viceversa, so I can only imagine how you must be feeling. Good luck with the posters and I hope you find your baby soon. I'd suggest you also visit catholic churches. A lot of families go to church on Sundays and I imagine they have bible groups and boards where you can post your flyers. Keep us informed and again, good luck! |

Still no good word to pass on. I am feeling at my wits end. This weekend will get out there and start knocking on doors again. Went to Lowe's and bought these metal things to put up neon posters--most of them have been stolen and I found a few posters in the garbage. I was putting them up near bus stops too (those are the ones that were gone) thinking that someone riding the buses would be more apt to read them. I'm not giving up on finding my little girl, even if I feel like I have that disease - overwhelmitis. She's out there somewhere! And all it is going to take is one person - I just want to thank everyone for all the support you have given me. You really have given me some good ideas. Tomorrow it will be three weeks (of hell) and it is time she comes home. |
I'm so sorry to hear about your pup. :( She is in our prayers. She will be found, just don't give up. :) |
I'm so sorry to hear this. I'd post flyers everywhere you can think of. On them make sure and put needs her meds. and REWARD. Alot of people will think, heck if I have a sick dog, I dont want to keep her, and if you offer a reward it encourages them to call. When Maddie was missing I posted on all stores, gas stations, liquior stores, parks, grocery stores, pet places, vets. Inform all vets in your location that she is missing and be on the look out for someone bringing in a new yorkie. I know I lot of people will disagree, but Mircochips only work if the vet scans them. Maddie has been to the vet and NEVER scanned. Still Have it done, but it's not a sure bet. I even posted a huge sign in my yard and made sure and put reward on it. I feel your pain. I've been there. I know how your heart is breaking, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Also go door to door and pass out flyers. Maybe you'll see her or hear her in someones house. Let me know if there is anything I can do. |
I'm so sorry your little girl is missing! I hope she comes home soon! |
I can't imagine the pain and suffering you've been through. Just wanted to tell you I will pray for the two of you to be reunited. I am so sorry your going threw this. |
im so sorry, im also praying for a safe return home.. |
I am so sorry to hear this, my guess is they will keep her or try to sell her. Craigs list is a popular place to sell pets these days. |

OMG IM SO SORRY! I remember a while back I was visiting my auntie with Milo and I had to go to the store, so I left Milo with my auntie and her other dog. She took the dogs to the backyard to let them go potty and Milo escaped under the fence, probably to go find me. She didn't realize he had escaped for a long time, she isn't used to having such a tiny dog her dog is medium sized-20 pounds. When I got home she was crying in the front of the house saying oh my God oh my God Ive lost your dog. I immediatley started freaking out and crying and we looked all up and down every street. Finally three hours later we found him, he had ran into someone elses yard and they had him LUCKILY for me they were good kind-hearted people who returned him. If it would have been someone else they would have stole him for sure AND he is microchipped too but that doesn't really help unless someone finds him and takes him to be scanned I am praying that you find your baby, and when you do NEVER let her go! I would definitley try calling the radio stations or the local news, you never know they could put you on there if they need a good story. Also did Rooms To Go have a camera in the back? (sorry if someone already asked you this) or try hiring a private detective, it surely is worth it, thats your baby! |
I think it's cruel of people to scoop up a dog and just take it as now their dog. The best case scenario is that whoever took her will be honest and bring her back and I hope this will be the case. I WOULD FLOOD the city with flyers and put the pressure on whoever this was that STOLE your baby. It's awful! |
i recently lost one of my dogs for 6 nights and it was AWFUL.. i was sick about it.. i did find him, and he was lost in the woods and covered with matts and mud.. but he has recovered.. i am so thankful.. it was a miracle.. i was hoping someone had found him and was keeping him because he was so cute.. but my dog was too scared to go to anyone for 6 days... if he has been found, and someone is keeping him,, at least he is safe and possibly with nice people.. that is the only comforting thought i can offer.. i am sorry for your pain, i know how it felt for 6 days.. i will pray you get your puppy back..:animal-pa |
Your story breaks my heart. I lost my Cocker Spaniel when I was a child. Since I never got her back, I hope somebody took very good care of her. I know how you feel. I hope you find your dog. |
Omgosh! I am very sorry that your baby is lost! :( The excact samething happend to a yorkie owner down the road from me! Also on the 22nd of august!:eek::eek: |
I\'m sorry about this, that\'s awful! I hope you find her soon! I know I would be devastated if that happened to me. Good luck and let\'s hope the couple is honest and fair. |
My thoughts and prayers are still with you...I pray for your babies safe return home. Please...Dear God protect her from harm. |
I pray that your fur baby finds you. I can\'t imagine the pain your\'re in right now. |
I\'m so sorry to hear about this. |
I sure hope you find her soon... i seen our neighbors dog, who was a chihuahua almost get snatched up from someone just last week. He got out of the yard and was on the sidewalk in front of their house, and some stranger pulled their car over and was trying to take the dog. but thank heavens the dog was not having it! We were leaving and I pulled over, and say "hey, thats my neighbors dog, who do u think you are?" By that time the neighbor came out from the house and recovered the dog.... thank heavens..... I dont tollerate that kind of stuff.... pisses me off to no end... if they were doing it to protect the odg, thats one thing... but to steal the dog thats another. |
