Also, try to find someone respected in the Hispanic community to help you. |
OMG I am soo darn sorry..our worst nightmare.. I would also post in spanish if you can find some one to help you out..I am so sorry you did not have her microchipped.. I am just not sure how people can be so heartless to actually just pick up a yorkie like that and keep on going with them. I will keep you in my thoughts and I will pray for her return to you. Please keep us updated. You might find other yorkie talkers in your area to help you out.. I know that is a huge area as my cousin lives there.. anne |
Put on your signs needs medication and reward dont put amount, that how i got my kaycee back, make sur the signs are big to read with a picture, good luck and please let us know. |
Be sure when posting to put flyers out in both english and spanish. Chances are the spanish couple may not speak or read english. I hope you find your baby. Elaine |
I am so very sorry that you lost your baby. You have had some really good suggestions on trying to locate your dear little one. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. |
Ideas already posted are wonderful. Do post neon colored signs...large enough to be seen easily...in English and Spanish...with a clear picture of your baby girl. Watch for ads listing a Yorkie for sale and check each and every one out...you never know. Put up signs in every imaginable public place you can find. I've heard others say to put on the signs that she needs medication...but I think most people will read through this...as it's used all too frequently. I once suggested putting out ads stating you were looking to buy an adult female Yorkie, say under 5 years old. Don't just talk to those that answer the ad...go and see for yourself. If it's not yours, simply say thank you...but she's not exactly what you were looking for. Talk to each and every vet/groomer/pet store/humane society/animal control and ask if they would put up your posters. I wish you a ton of luck finding your baby. I know it must be terribly upsetting. And last but not least DO NOT GIVE UP on her...she's out there somewhere...someone knows...and someone will tell. Post a huge reward. And continue to ask for help, most people would be happy to help in this situation...I know I would. |
so sorry know what you are going through It was about a year ago that I was walking my Yorkie Indy and my lab Rock with a friend. She had the leash for Indy and she tripped. She let go of the leash and he ran like no tomorrow. I live in a town of like 10000 people so everyone pretty much knows everyone. We looked for 5 hours that night. I did not sleep at all that night. I sat up in my van by where we lost him. He was lost in a area that was a main road out of town. We had the chief of police, his family, my family and 6 other friends walking the corn field near where he got lost. I put up banners for months and I ran ads in the paper for months. I called all vets, all groomers and the pet shelter. My vet has called a few times to say that a man calls and says he has a small black and tan dog that he does not know what he is. But does not have any money for vet care but asks questions. My vet is pretty much positive that the little one is my Indy. He was not neutered and weighed 3.5 pounds. He was a very beautiful yorkie. But realizing now that he probably had ear issues. I had rescued him from a puppy mill. I have to admit my heart still breaks when I drive by where we lost him. I have my Mia now but I will admit every part of me would love to have my beloved Indy back.:( |
Oh my heart is breaking for you and Meeker :( You've received really good advice. I hope you find your baby  |
We have a website in our community and someone here (9000 homes) let their boy and girl yorkie out in their yard while the mom put her kids to bed....She didn't notice until 2 am that the boy was missing...She posted 'lost yorkie ' on craigslist with her phone number...I called her and left a message about the bulletin board on the web ...She had the infor posted and after 2 days, he was picked up...(a lady in our town fosters all found animals til they go home) He was roaming around with a beagle, was put in a yard, escaped again ! Caught and escaped once again !!! This is Arizona, coyotes, snakes, owls, etc....She is one lucky mom to get her baby back after 3 times running away....Not to say she should take better precautions to keep them safe.... I hope you get your baby back soon.... |
I really like the idea of posting in spanish!:thumbup: There must be someone here at YT that could help her with this???? Does anyone have any ideas of a spanish speaking member that could assist? |
I will try to post the spanish ones in the "tiendas" spanish stores, Laundromats, places were lots of spanish people go, and make sure to mention some $$$, hope you get your baby back:aimeeyork |
You guys are excellent--thank you. Some lady through here contacted me and redid my flyer in Spanish - again thank you Maria! I have her posted in Craigslist and all the local papers and everywhere on the internet. There was an ad in Craigslist that was posted on the 28th--I didn't see it till the 30th and sent three emails that day. She said she found a small expensive, high in demand, dog and gave the owner 24 hours to claim or she was rehoming it. OMG! Yesterday my email wasn't so nice--told her that the dog had probably been stolen and she was dealing in stolen merchandise. The dog didn't belong to her and she didn't have the right to give it away. She should have called the Pinellas County Animal Services. If that had been my Resque, she would have been home with me already. I had been watching the ads for yorkie--good idea, I will run an ad wanting to buy one. The only problem I see is that I will get tons of scam ones. You can't believe how many I get now just advertising for her return. Thanks you guys and please keep Resque in your prayers. |
Any news yet? Hoping and praying for the safety of Resque...please stay safe until you're found. |
No news on Resque yet! I got a call this afternoon from a gentleman from Dunedin. He found a yorkie and brought this yorkie for me to see (we met at a restaurant). Wasn't Resque--it was a beautifu little male. I have been on the lookout for ads this afternoon for anyone losing a male. I had the feeling he was tryng to sell me this dog. I am calling him back later and suggesting I come and take pics of the little yorkie and try putting him on Craigslist or kijiji--the local newspapers and every other place I have listed Resque in. So-----------anyone out there knowing abut a male yorkie being lost in Florida, please let me know right away before this guy dumps him. The pup was quite calm (in comparison to my Resque)--and just as cute as they come. He was larger than Resque (my guess was maybe 7 pounds but I wouldn't take that all too seriously cause I really don't know for sure). Thanks everyone--I'm going to find her--she is out there somewhere. Gave me a bit of encouragement when Friday on Craigslist (Tampa Bay area) I read about two dogs getting back to their owners. One had been missing since August 14tth and the other for nine weeks. |
You are still in my thoughts.. and was just checking for any updates..anne |
