Attitude?? Pippin has a total attitude, he throws a fit if he doesn't get what he wants. Also if he's laying on the couch with you or at night when he goes to bed with me he gets comfy but if I go to move he growls at me cause he doesn't want to be moved. It's kind of funny, but kind of annoying. It's gotten to the point where I ignore him and move him anyways. Also whenever someone walks past another person or goes to touch them or hug them he freaks out and starts barking and trying to pull our hands away and eveything. He's a year old and weighs in at a solid 8lbs and he tries to act bigger then what he is most of the time. -Kelly |
To me, it looks like he is being the Alpha Dog. He is trying to Dominate the house, and be the one in charge. Do not let him be in charge. He needs to be taught that he is not in charge. His owners are. :aimeeyork |
I would have to agree he wants to be the pack leader.. |
The weird thing is is that he know's he's not the Alpha dog because as soon as he starts freaking out at someone for touching someone else all I have to do is say his name in a stern voice and he looks and me and he'll test me but I'll say his name all stern like again and he stops. As for the growling while sleeping thing, my mom's friend has 3 Yorkies and she said they do the same thing. He just gets really comfy and when I move it wakes him up and he doesn't like it if I have to move him. He likes to sleep as close to me as possible, this includes sleeping under the blankets. Is that bad for them? He doesn't do the growling in the bed thing so much anymore, I think he realized that I was ignoring him. -Kelly |
Kelly .... mine has an ADDITUDE PROBLEM too ... LOL ..... I think it is because we spoil them way to much .... ;) When Maya does not get it her way .... s**t is on .... :D |
Thank the lucky stars that I'm not alone. Despite what some people think, Pippin is not the alpha dog in this house, he knows that me and my parents are in charge. He's kinda funny when he's being all attitude Pippin. He knows where we keep his treats so when he feels like he's been a good boy he'll go sit by the pantry door and cry at you until you come give him a treat. He's a silly dog sometimes but his personality totally fits him. -Kelly |
