4 Months & Misbehaving Hi All! MacKensie is 4 months, weights 5 lbs. 12oz. She bites continousily & on our hands, feet, socks, pants & sometimes growls. I know there is such a thing as puppy biting but this is most of the time. She drawls blood. I plan on having her spayed, will she settle down & also stop the puppy biting a little? Once her puppy teeth are gone will this get better? I need some HELP! |
Bite her back. she most likely was not properly socialized before she was taken from her mother. And right now she is teeting. that explains the chewing but it still needs to be corrected. When she bites you, yelp, snap at her as an older dog would snap at her and push her away. if she comes back to you snap at her again. you can make the snapping snarl sound and use your hand to nip her in the shoulder or neck. Just a touch will do. it needs to be quick, just like another dog would do to her. if she is chewing on your furniture, do the same thing/ trust me it works. But make sure she has plenty of chew toys that she is allowed to chew on. also make sure she has chew toys because she is teething. |
Thanks, I will give that a try. We have tried Bitter Apple, white vinegar diluted with water & the can with coins but it didn't work. When my daughter was a baby she would bite my toe, I would bite her back & it worked. Why didn't I think if this! |
