Holy Cow I am Pooped!!!First attempt at Grooming... Sorry for the pun. I just attempted to trim Cooper a little. I thought I would go for the hinder area and the back legs... It took 2 of us to hold him with cherieos and comforting words.... I swear I am shaking like crazy....LOL It took us at least 45 min. and all I did was his hind legs with sissicors and butt area with with the clipper. I am a hairdresser too. (Retired) Reminds me of the days of cutting little kids they were sure moving targets....too. Well we got it done but now he looks a little lopsided... (Top heavy) But my DH said, " God this is too much we better save some money and get him done....:eek::eek: He is the one who hates me spending any money on that stuff... Kinda funny if you ask me... Anyway thanks for all the tips I learned a lot and I really think it doesn't look too bad... :thumbs up :yorkietal |
LOL! Imagine having 2! It's an all day affair! :D |
It does get easier as they get older, the first several months, I would just turn the various clippers on and hold them near him, never using the actual clipper, and he finally got accustomed to the sound. Joey will now lie on his back and let me trim his tummy with no problems. Went through lots of cheerios in the early days. You need to post pictures of the results! |

Brushing has gotten soooooo much better :) I'm actually able to get her to relax and possibly  enjoy it a bit, but when the clippers come out  wiggle girl comes out! I'll try your suggestion and see if it helps my little Abby :) Thank You! Angelstarr we need to see pictures :D |
Thanks for all the support. I am not sure what to take pictures of his butt? LOL... Tomorrow I am going to attempt to work on his back and see if I can get his front legs done too. And then give him a bath. So I will post some pictures then. thanks everyone you are all so great.:D |

Bathing & Trimming !! Bogey (2 1/2 yrs) has gotten so use to the bathing & trimming He doesn't move a muscle while your trying to groom. If he sees you with a towel headed for the tub He goes & hides, but when you put him in the tub he's a statue !! Now Pebbles ( 8 mths) is a different story. The minute she hits the tub, she countinously tries to climb out the other side. Just keep going on a routine basis, It'll get better !! |
