Is it just me???????? or does anyone else get turned of at seeing puppies advertised for sale and dressed up in goofy hats and huge bows and stuffed into coffee cups. I want to see the puppy, not the props. this is just one example. Sparkle Of Glamour's Puppies For Sale Page |
They sure are adorable :) |
I agree 100%. A well placed bow is ok by me, but all too often the frufru is used to distract the prospective buyer from looking too closely at the pup. |
It does kind of irritate me--I feel like it's false advertising. I have never ONCE found a Yorkie in my coffee cup in the morning. |
I personally hate the way they do that to puppies. It is just a money making gimmick. I say let the puppies hand pick their new owners mine all did! |
I used to think it was cute before I was a member on here. I hate when they stuff them in cups |
No, it's not just you...this has bugged me for a long time. When I look at a website I want to see the puppy, the whole puppy...if I want it all dressed up I'll buy it and dress it up myself. A cute little bow, appropriately sized, is fine but personally, when I see the 'well dressed' puppies I just figure the breeder has something to hide so I move on. |
Nope it isn't just you! I find the entire thing pretty silly (trying to put that lightly). Standing a puppy next to a can of coke, slapping a bow on their head, sticking them into a cup is only a gimmick for unexperiensed buyers to overlook the true qualities we should be looking for in a new puppy. Someone who is reputable would want you to know that their puppies are healthy, the parents are tested and their reputable and want to find their puppies reputable owners, not that you can tape a bow on their heads for the cuteness factor and check a box on someone website for purchase. The sad thing about this is that if soemone does not have the knowledge to see through this smoke cloud they will be drawn into this type of purchase. Then it becomes a roll of the dice whether or not you purchase a healthy, quality puppy or a lifetime of heartache.:( Luckily more and more buyers are doing research prior to their purchase and learning of these telltale signs for lack of quality breeding. YT is a wonderful resource for this information and it should be given with a tender hand by members her and not attached to a brink to their heads:eek: |
Now Im going to disagree...don't anyone throw a dish my way please. I look at it this way, the breeder has taken the time to clean up their babies and make them adorable. To me, it shows that they are taken care of. My breeder did and does the same thing when she advertises her babies. I didn't buy Jezebel & Royal from her because they had bows and smelled nice, I bought them because they were exactly what I wanted. Buyer beware, do your homework. I will not judge a breeder because of a bow :( |
Aww, I think they are adorable!! I don't like them being in coffee cups, mugs, etc but I see no harm in dressing them up. I dress my pups up and I can honestly say they enjoy it because they love the attention and they know they will get a treat. Of course I still take lots of pictures of them without clothes so they can see the whole puppy. Now if the puppy was just miserable and hated it then I wouldn't want to see them dressed up. It is the same for adult dogs. Some people love dressing their dogs up and some don't. |
I figured they do that just to prove that these little guys are so tiny. I have seen 12 oz. soda cans right next to the puppy too. :thumbdown People still think that size is the most important factor in buying a puppy .especially the toy breeds where it is emphasized. If a person wants something that tiny, then look into getting a hamster ! |
