anyone familiar with this breeder.Help asap! I am thinking of buying a biewer from this breeder Elizabeth James.aka Rusty Pups of Alcoca Louisana. It's really hard to check people out. Unless you know folks in a certain circle. That's why I'm here. I figure Yorkie people know breeder reputations.(even though I know theres much dispute of Biewers even being yorkies!) She also breeds standard yorkies. Any input is certainly appreciated. :confused: |
checking out a breeder I've not heard of this breeder - but anytime you are thinking about buying a puppy - ask the breeder if she would give you her vet's number for a reference. If she won't give you the vet's phone number or says that he vet does not want to be called - then that is a major red flag that you should not buy from her. If she will give you her vet's number, make sure you can look it up and confirm that it really is the number of a licensed vet then call the vet and ask about the Breeder's character, how her parent dogs are cared for, and how she raises her puppies. Any breeder should work very well with their vet so that they and their vet are happy to have you call to check the breeder out. Make sure you really feel good about what you are doing before you go through with any transaction. If she is a good breeder, she would agree with that. |
thanks she does give a vets name and number at the bottom of her email. I will call. The more I read on the Biewer the more I see that it is most likely nothing but a combination of 3 breeds and I am leaning away from it anyway. I am still interested in this breeders reputation.Thanks again |

LOL, she is from Anacoco, Louisiana, which isn't very far from where I live. I've never heard of her although I do know our local papers are always advertising yorkies for sale from that area. How reputible they are, I can't help you although YTCA does not have a listing for yorkie breeders from that area. |

Just a little time with a breeders vet can tell you quite a bit both by the things the vet says and by the things the vet won't say. Best of luck! |
