Looking for information Last Friday Stella had what the new doctor in my vet's office called an allergic reaction, have no idea what caused it. She was swollen and red around her left eye and there was a lump under her right jaw area and her mouth was swollen on the right side. Anyway, she gave her the following: 1.50 Dexamethasone inj. 4mg and a 0.25 Benadryl injection. (those problems resolved) Stella has gained weight since the injection, eats alot more, drinks more water, pees more often but not as much as before and appears to pant for no apparent reason at times. My usual vet has been left a message to call me tomorrow. I'm wondering if you have had experience with this drug. She weighed around 5lb 10oz when she received the injection. |
Vi when my friends Yorkie had an allergic reaction to a flea collar they gave her baby the same meds...Call me if you would like to talk. |
Oh my :idontknow and I hope is just the side effect of the injection, because that sound a little like cushing's disease:( I don't want to scare you just like a said I hope was just the inj ok, but is always nice to have second and even third vet opinions. |
From the sounds of the swelling my guess would be a bee sting or spider bite. Sometimes the cure is worse than the insect bite. I sure hope your baby gets back to normal without any complications. I know how that would worry you to death. |
