Please help! Hi I have a two year old Yorkie that still gives me problems with eating his food. Riley will eat a certain food for a few days and then he refuses to eat it. I have been giving him dry, moist and roasted chicken, on a rotating basis. He is having bowel problems. I'm sure it's the food issue. I called my vet and he agrees but I am worried because sometimes there is alittle blood in the loose bowel movement. Can anyone suggest a solution to the food issue? Has anyone ever had any experience with blood in the bowel movements? Please advise! Thanks, Lisa |
What foods have you tried feeding him? When you've changed, have you made the change gradually? Has he had bloodwork lately? He may benefit from the use of probiotics and possibly fiber. If he's having problems while he's on the chicken or chicken based food, that may be part of the problem. Have you tried venison, duck, or fish based foods instead? Wellness and Natural Blance both make a high quality fish based food. Does your baby have any symptoms besides pickiness? Does he feel sick a couple of hours after meals or anything like that? Any vomitting? |
Thanks for advise! I did not introduce the food slowly. I just tried something new. He has not had any blood work. I am calling my vet on Monday. I never thought about the chicken being the problem. I just kept giving it to him because it seemed to be the only food that tempted him. Thanks for your suggestions! |
