I just want to express my sympathies. I'm sure this is a difficult time and a difficult decision for you to make. I can't tell you when or how but just know that we are all here for you. |
eyes You will see it in her eyes. You will give you last kiss and hug and you will know :rbyorkie: it is time. my heart goes out to you today. |
Cheryl19 I know that it is s a hard decision to took. As a therapist in Pet loss what I am saying to my clients is they also have to think about the quality of live of their pets. Your vet will be able to tell you if there is anything possible to at least have Queenie not suffering. It will be the bigger proof of love to be able to let go your love Queenie if there's is anything else to do to get her better. Take care of her and after take care of you. Bon courage. France |

Cheryl My heart is breaking for you today. I know the pain and confusion you must be going through along with your precious friend. I too am drawing closer to this day with my beloved "Leipshen". She is almost 13 yrs old. She is completely blind. Although she is still happy, and does not appear to be in any pain, life has changed drastically for both of us since she went blind. She has been housbroken since she was a small puppy, now she doesn't seem to be able wait until she can get outside. she doesn't even try anymore. It is so sad. I believe what everyone else has said so far is the best advise of all. Your heart will tell you when the time has come. Perhaps if you take one whole day and spend it with her. sit and talk to her, tell her about Rainbow Bridge, go over your many memories together. Tell her over and over how much you love her. I am sure she knows this already, however, these precious moments together may help you to then let. I plan to do this with Leipshen when her time has come. May God be with you and give you strength and peace Patti |
I have not been around YT very long but whenever I see a post like yours it always brings tears. I too had to make this decision for my Lab Abby. She was my loving and wonderful companion for 12 years and suffered from cancer as well. Making the decision to stop her suffering was the hardest decision that I ever had to make but I realized that her suffereing needed to end. I was unable to say the word to the vet when I arrived on that sad day but look at her and I he knew my decision. In your head you know it will make the pain and suffering end but heart will make you want just one more day. Follow you head, your heart will heal with time. Remeber all the love that has been shared and hold that love close to you heart. Big hugs~~~ |

When quality of life is no longer there or our pets suffer, the decision needs to be made to let them go with their dignity. We must learn to put aside our own selfish reasons and think of our pets that have blessed our lives. God be with you and your decision. |
I am so sorry you are going through this; I think this is one of the many reasons people need to find a good veterinarians, someone who they really feel like they can trust. Some vets might suggest unnecessary treatments when the outcome might not be favorable just to increase their money. However, if you found a vet you can trust than I would listen to them and take their advice at this terribly emotional time, when it's hard to decide what's really best for the pet. My heart goes out to you. To those people who don't get it, "it's just a dog", my heart goes out to them as well because this means that they have never known the love of a dog. |
Real love I think this is when we show are real love to our babies. It is the most difficult thing I ever have had to do. But I agree with the others I think you know it is time now. You need to give yourself time with her. But make sure you call the vet and do it for both your sakes. You will need to be brave for her and then you can break down later. The best kiss I ever got from my Cookie was right before she went down after the injection. It was like her thank you for letting her go. I am always here just email if want to talk |

I think you know that the time has come to put an end to her suffering. That\'s why you posted the question. Please ignore the folks with stupid comments like "its only a dog". Dog lovers here and all over share your pain and understand how hard it is to say goodbye. One vet who helped me release one of my dear ones, said to me "PLEASE REMEMBER WHAT A GREAT LIFE YOUR PET HAD WITH YOU - HOW HAPPY AND HEALTHY SHE WAS AND LUCKY TO HAVE LIVED SUCH A LONG LIFE WITH YOU. YOU MADE IT HAPPEN. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time and I know you will make the right decision for your pet. :rose::cry: |
