Maximus is such a sneak......
 
I have always known that he hides treats his his fleece bed...but I never realized that he also hide things under his crate mattress...lol, yesterday I bought these new hardchicken treats...so I gave him one and he ran to his crate :thumbup: so I go to cook dinner and I hear him digging (he just does this sometimes) and so I am walking towards the living room and I see him pulling up his mattress with his paws putting the treat under and then he turns around and backs up his legs on the mattress to lay it flat.....it was hilarious...I also found under there (1 scrungies, a baby carrot, a piece of napkin and one of his nylabones~that I was searching for)...how funny is that!!! So this morning when I was leaving I pulled the mattress up and put some treats there (while he watched) then put the mattress down and he started digging and it gave me time to leave without him getting sad!!! I thought it was just soo cute :p

That is just the cutest story!! He is just saving the treats for later in case he gets hungry and wants a snack. ;) Codie does the same thing! He hides anything from his bones and greenies to my socks!

It was funny...he looked liek he was doing the moonwalk to flatten out the mattress and so nothing looked disturbed??..lol

How cute Tiny does that too , he also drags his toys out of his room and puts them all over the house. I have to vaccuum twice a day b/c he loves tearing up napkins. He is well worth the cleaning though ;)

How cute...Mollie will take her dog food into her bed and put it between the bottom cushion and the side and have toys over it. The other day I couldn't figure out what she was diging for, it turned out to be her dog food. Silly girl, there is dish in the kitchen.

I clean his pooch pad cover every 2 weeks...because I don't crate him so he dillee dallies his way in there when it suits him...so it is due to be cleaned this Saturday so I am guessing that carrot has been there for a couple of days????...lol, this is the first time I have actually ever found anything under his mattress so I am guessing this digging under the mattress is relatively new also...BTW the carrot DID get thrown out... :D

My male is the only one that does this. He hides all kinds of stuff, I never know what I will find. I even found a quarter in his bed. I guess the tooth fairy left it.

Cute story!! I can't believe what you found under the mattress. Here's a really old thread about Bo protecting his food from the 'enemy'. He still does it. And usually knocks his food out of the bowl and gets it all over the place in the process. I had to start putting a small dish cloth in there when I feed him or he'll worry himself to death trying to cover that food. He whines and everything! And I have to put the food in the cage, closed securely till Bo decides he's hungry. If I don't, Woody will sneak in there and eat it!

Well, now you've done it :eek: Poor Maximus is gonna wonder who found his secret stash and stole his carrot. Cause he knows he had one in there :D

We once had a cat that was a hoarder too. We had an area rug covering hard wood floors that she loved to tuck stuff under. When we moved and took up the rug....you name it....if kitty could carry it, she had it under there ;)

Now that is hilarious.....I wonder what is going through their minds... :D it really is like the enemy is out to get them and they have to "protect" their prizes..LMAO!!!! Maximus is intent on hiding things but I guess only from us...lol, I am always missing 1 shoe (in Maximus' bed)..., my bf 1 sock (same place) and whatever else was valuable for the day..lol!!! BTW..Your pictures were GREAT!!!..they had me in the story and I can easily see how that bowl gets toppled..lol :D
