Well, he did it and I need help! 1 Attachment(s) I put Tucker in his pen while I went to the store. When I came home and opened the bedroom door...Houdini was out of his pen, just sitting staring at the door when I opened it. I don't know if he climbed up the sides and fell out the rest of the way or when he made it to the top, jumped on my bed which is about 1 foot away from his pen. Anyone have any ideas of a top I could construct to keep him in? The pen has no top or bottom. I'm so worried he's going to get hurt. Thank goodness I pulled all the plugs on everything before I left. I checked him all over and he doesn't seem to be hurt. |
I would get a wire crate. Now that he knows he can get out he is going to keep trying. |
Wow...that looks so high. I would probably crate him too if he can get out of there. You can get big crates as well. Good luck!!!! |
You can get xpen that has the top covered. I heard that stops the little ones from climbing up. GENL Mesh X Pen Top Square from King Wholesale Pet Supplies |
Another one going in the BIG HOUSE! pour little jaildog! *pout* Have you thought about using clothes pins and clipping a sheet over the top for a ceiling? Just a thought....good luck!:D |

I put a peg board (buy a 2' x 4' section) on the top of ours, just secured it with tie wraps. Puppy could climb out easily. Makes for a nice new TABLE! |

A home made way to cover it is putting a sheet or small blanket over top of it and put bunjee's around it to secure it. Cheap and easy way to keep them in. I had a playpen for Bandit and Bandit could scale the sides of it and climb out now he just jumps right out of it with no problem so we had to find a way to keep him in. good luck!! |
Escape from the xpen!! Pebbles (6.8 lbs) gets out of her xpen (24 in.) & greets me at the door (After a day confined or so I thought!). She's into the eat sheet-rock thing at 8 mths. old. I put her in her xpen & lace the surrounding top with twine. It's been 2 days & she's not been able to get out. I watched her try to get out & she climbs over the top & pushes her self over. I guess I'll wait for her to get over her need for sheetrock before she is on her own again !!:animal-pa |
My Keoki got out of the pen and now he has learned how to get out of his crate- now that's what I call Houdini!!!! Good luck!!!! Sound's like you have a smart one :) |
Check out the thread Xpen. OR Monster. THey make tops for them and are safer than a piece of plywood. IMO. Everyone teased me about Cooper being in Jail but it worked until he was trained and used to the crate. Good luck they really are like hoodini... or should we say Chris Angel???? :D:D |
I found the company I got mine from it was http://www.midwesthomwa4pets.com Dog Crates, Dog Crate, Dog Kennels, Dog Playpens at Midwest Homes for Pets I am not sure if that link posted right so I typed it again. I guess I better get to bed. |
