Oops....... LMAO........ i was cleaning the house today and i put toby's toys up because every time i clean them up he pulls them back out again............. So his toys have been up for most the day and i couldnt figure out why he was sitting faving the wall and crying....... HE WANTS HIS TOYS  ....... i am really getting to my wits end here though, i am realy sick of tripping over so many toys in the house, (we have a SMALL house) , do any of you only take out a few toys at a time?? |
Are you kidding????????? Our house looks like a yorkie nursery! :D Know what? It looked the same way when Muffin was a puppy, too! Funny thing and it was this way all of Muffin's life - I would put all of her toys in the toy box and she would sit there and bark until I took every last one of them back out again! :D :D :D I thought of something else, too. It scares me to death when I step on those darn squeaky toys. I think I'm stepping on her!!! |
Poor little Toby...give him his toys! LOL!!! My daughter tells me, "Before you got Maddie, your house was always so clean and neat." Maddie's toys are everywhere. Every now and then I'll pick most of them up, but before you know it, she's gotten them out and scattered all over the place again. It is kinda nice...having them picked up...but, enjoy it while it lasts, which is never for long! Maddie sends kisses to Toby and says she hopes he gets his toys back...or else she'll share hers with him!!! |

Ah the poor little man, please return his toys. I have two yorkies, one old gal who is above playing with toys or anything else a normal dog would do. My little guy though loves his toys and if you so much as touch them he must pick each one up to make sure you have not damaged or contaminated it in any way. He then starts at one end and nudges each one with his nose as if he is counting them. He stalks my housekeeper to make sure she doesn't run off with his loot. I can't wait to see how this will play out with the new puppy. |
In the tricks class I took with my first Yorkie, there was a cool trick invented just for you, Orinskye. You could teach your dog how to pick up his toys and put them in the basket. I forgot how to do it, though. Something with commands like "Fetch" and "Basket" and "Drop." |

All I do is trip over yorkie toys all day. I have a big basket big up at night and by the next afternoon somehow they are all over the house again. Plus anything else they find that they feel should be a toy. Being a neat freak this is a little tough on there mother but at least it's just toys. ;) |
We have one of those big Tuperware boxes with the lid on it for Rika's toys. When we clean the house the first thing we do is take all of Rika's toys and bones and put them in the box and close it up. She pouts the whole time but she knows when we're done cleaning we'll open up the box again and she can take all her toys out all over the place. I think maybe tripping over toys is definatley a part of living with a Yorkie. Sorry I can't be more of a help. Hehe. |
I bought a few yorkie books before I got Olivia. I skimmed through the parts I thought were most important when they first came, but every once in a while I'll see my bf reading a few pages in one. I was just making the comment the other day that our living room looked trashed because there were toys EVERYWHERE! Jason said that in the book they say to have different groups of toys that are out at different times to keep the toys "fresh." He also said it can help the yorkie with associating what is theirs. I can't vouch for that as he's read more of the books than I have, but I know my mom used to do this with our toys. That would be great to be able to teach Olivia to pick up her own toys! |
Boy mom give the little guy back his toys. Are babies are just trying to make sure we exercise by having us bend up and down. Silly mom. |
Omgsh i love this thread b/c im dealingwith the same thing .. i used to have such an organized apt. now .. oh lordy.. TOYS EVERYWHERE... but i must confess i feel a sense of enjoyment and motherly every nite when i pick them up and put them away! its like really having a child :) I LOVE IT!!! :D |

Our little guy has a basket with all his toys in it. He gets to pick which ones he wants out. We started this last night and it was like it got so many new toys this morning. I think he forgot about some of the toys he has. So every night they go back in the basket and every morning he picks out what he wants to play with for the day. He usually only has about 4 out during the day. |

What you say is very true. I remember after Muffin how sad I thought it was when I looked around the room and there weren't any Muffin toys all over. :( |

My yorkies love their toys and they get very upset when I clean and put them up. I put them in their toy basket, and they run and get them out. |
I am a neat freak. Everything has to be in it's place at all times of the day. That was until I got Esme. Now everything is totally neat, exept for the 30-35 dog toys all over the floor. The worst is going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and stepping on something squeaky! We have a toy basket under the end table in the living room where I collect up all her toys. I leave about 4-5 out at a time, but then she goes there and cries for us to dump more out. By the end of the day, they are all out again!!! She has toys under our bed, in the bathroom, in the guest room, kitchen, EVERYWHERE. I am happy to hear I am not the only one! |
We have a toy box and they are constantly getting their toys out of there so there is usually toys all over untill I pick them up. |
Pita not only has toys all over the house AND she has bones all over our office too! |
