Ears I HAVE SEEN MOST OF THE MENBER"S YORKIE PICTURES< TRYING OT FIGURE OUT WHAT PART OF THE EAR DO I have to trim. So far, I still dont know. is it the top pointy back part, or front part? |
Not sure what the reason is for you to want to trim them. If you're trying to stand them up I would definitely trim the whole back of the ear very short...almost shaven...like half a centimeter or so. Worked for my dog cuz her ears would flop like crazy. Good luck |
I thought you have to trim them by general rule, before the sixth month, to prevent them from going fowards. |

Yeah that is what I mean. Thanks. |
Baron's floppy ears... Baron was 6 month when I got him and the breeder did not trim his ears. As you can see in the Pic. they fold forward. I just trimmed him short including his ears with the clipper. Then I used a scissors to trim around the edges of his ears. He's now 8 months old. Will his ears ever stand up ?? I LOVE him no matter what, I was just wondering>>> Thanks...:D |
I heard the ears set at six months. I think that means what ever they look like at six months, it will stay that way. |
Baron is adorable |
The top 1/3 of the ear should/can be trimmed on the front and back, this helps the ears stand up. Pepper's ears were trimmed the last time I had her groomed, the hair on the outside and inside edge can be grown long. |

I did it. 2 Attachment(s) Thanks to all of you for your input. I fallow the advise on this thread as well as another one that was posted by another member, almost at the same time. I shave (or was supposed to) 1/3 of the ear. This is how she looks now before and after.Attachment 236856 Attachment 236857 |
