definitely the food and maybe the nutrical as well. you don't need to give that if he's eating great. Try switching to a higher grade food like Solid Gold, wellness, or innova. the stankiness should go away. |
This is funny!! We switched to Wellness also, and the pooh does not stink anymore. I also have a bulldog that are known for their "fluffs" and Wellness has controlled that in her. |
If a dog has coccidia then his waste will stink. The bad smell will not go away until the parasites leave his body. I had a Pomeranian that had coccidia. His waste smelled very bad. Every time he pooped, I had to spray air freshener to fight the bad odor. I knew when he no longer had these parasites living in his body, because his waste did not smell bad anymore. |
My dogs eat Canidae low-cal and Wellness Ocean and their poop doesn't smell. I do clean it up pretty promptly. They are paper/potty pad trained. My boy's wee-wee is smelly though, especially if it is there for a little while. |
When Oscar had a coccidia infection his poop was absolutely heinous. In fact, the stool sample the vet used to diagnose the infection smelled so bad that only the tech performing the fecal exam was able to stay in the room! It smelled up the vets office from the very back all the way into the waiting room. Nasty stuff. The good news is that the meds should take care of the smell within a couple days. |
I appeciate all the info guys! I though Bil Jac was good food. DOH! We're on day 4 of the Albon and his poops are looking alot better. Firm but still stanky as all get out. I'm doing outside/crate training, so it's not like he's stinking up the house that much (whiz on the other hand is harder to catch!) but it just surprised me how much he could make the outside stink! |
I dont remember Bella ever being that bad may be the food??? |
I think I can smell it from here !!!:eyetearss |
Bil-jac makes poop stink real bad. I have had dogs who have been on that food and switched them right away to another brand. It doesn't take but a few feedings to get over the problem. If he still smells after that, I would get him tested for parasites. Poop is my life too. Between my kids and all my animals in the zoo, I have a pretty sh*tty life LOL |
