WOW!! im glad she's ok our babies are so small and fragile...me and my bf just re-carpeted our stairs and Home Depot did that for us.. but they also did some other rooms in our house.... have you tried Home Depot or Lowes? maybe they carry runners there if you just were looking for that? not sure....hope this might help some! Lily sends kisses and hugs!:):):) |
oh man - I bet you can't get that image out of your head - I'm SO GLAD She's ok !! |
I know exactly how you feel because the exact same thing happened to Zoe. The only difference is that she ran in front of me as I was walking to the stairs and basically ran into my leg, almost like I kicked her down the stairs. I felt horrible and thought that this was it but just like yours, she jumped up all happy. I couldn't beleive it! I still can see it in my mind, it seemed like she hit every step on the way down. I was so grateful that she was ok and glad yours is too! |
Thankfully she's ok! |
I am glad to hear she is doing better. I think you should go to the vet, just to be sure. Scooter had a fall from the stairs in my condo and luckly, because of puppy bones, he had some bruises but no broken bones or internal bleeding. It is SOOO scary when they fall. He fell out the back of my stairs from almost the top stair and landed on wood floor. By the grace of God he survived. I ended up sealing the back of the stairs to prevent further problems and they are completely carpeted. It was harder on me than it was on him, other than the pain of course. I will never forget it, I can still see the fall in my head...I am sure you see it in yours too. I hope your baby continues to do well! |
I am so glad she is OK. I once had a small dog (toy poodle/pug mix) fall from a second floor balcony. She was running down a walkway and her leash wrapped around a post and jerked her back and over the edge. My heart sank into my stomach and I was scared to death to look over the railing and see her hanging by the neck. The angels were with her too because she was just walking around on the ground like nothing happened. She was fine. It sure is scary though. |
1 Attachment(s) I am so glad McKenzie is okay! I've got stairs in my house too (carpeted though), but even still, it's a scary thought to think of them tumbling down them. They move SO fast when they get excited, it's just never-wracking. We also have an open bannister (is that what it's called;see pic) separating the upper living area & the stairway. The dogs stand with their front paws on it looking downstairs..........scares the c--p out of me. Replacing that someday is on my list of "things to do" |
Ohhh Breny, I know how you fill hun! When Lillie was about 6 months old I accidently booted her down our basements stairs! OMG I could have fainted, I did the same thing you did, I screamed, picked her up, made sure she was ok, put her down and she was fine! Thank God everything is ok! |
Bless your heart you must feel horrible even though there was nothing you could do. These little buggers are fast. It might not hurt to have her checked out even though she seems okay. Better safe than sorry. SO glad it didn't really hurt her. |
Update I just wanted to let everyone know that mckenzie is doing great! She doesn't even seem sore today! Thanks for all your kind words!!!! Sending hugs to you all !!! |
Breny, since you don't want carpet, how about those filigree looking safety mats made for steps? I've seen them at Home Depot & Lowes? They're heavy rubber type stuff...just a thought:) I'm soo glad that McKenzies doing well! Heres a link with a pic of what I'm talking about: Recycled Tire Mats - Handmade Rubber Door, Safety, Vehicle&Anti-fatigue Mats! |

wow what scare! |
omg wat a scare.... that happened to abby also. she went down half a flight and she landed on her side of the head. I FREAKED OUT!!! as soon as she landed she ran like a bat outta hell. i caught up with her and picked her up n i started to cry. I yelled at my boyfriend 'GET THESE DAM STAIRS CARPETED OR IM NEVER COMING BACK' i was a complete wreck. I checked her whole body moved all her limbs and "squeezed" her tummy n chest and all and she seemed fine. Stairs haven't been carpeted cuz were waiting to paint the hallway. but i tell u wat, Abby wont even dareeeee go near those stairs. even wen i pick her up to take her up she clings on to me for dear life. MY AND UR POOR BABY!! its not ur fault.... |
Just saw this and it scared me to death! Now, though, I'm getting back to breathing regularly. I'm so glad she's ok. I was even happier you didn't go rolling down the stairs, too, trying to save her! |
