i ma glad your haruka is ok, thats scary. what does haruka mean? |
I'm glad Haruka is okay! Just reading that, scared me to bits. I have come into three near encounters just like that, except the dogs were off leash and the owners were at least a block away. I've had cats chase me and Teddy, and two German Sheperds chased us down the block. Teddy freaked out. I picked him up because the german sheperd jumped on top of me. I'm trying to block the dog from getting Teddy, Teddy is barking like crazy, it was ridiculous. I screamed, "GET YOUR DOG. PLEASE, JUST GET YOUR DOG." Owner sees all of this happening and walks calmly to me. Never calling the dog to come or anything. I live in a city where leashes are required, and off leash in the public is against the law. I said to myself the next time something like this happens, I am calling the police. It's not right that people can be so careless. Anyways, I say all of this to tell you I'm so glad this incident didn't turn into anything more. Thank goodness she's alright. |
I am so glad your baby is okay. Oh, my gosh I would have freaked out too. People have no manners anymore. I guess an apology was too much for them. I just can't believe people. Makes you just want to stay home. |
She is doing okay.... Even Haruka hasn't been able to go back to work as a therapy dog (because management hasn't found out about liability insurance...)I also thought about having her as an emotional support dog for me (even my pcp thinks that I cope very well with my life struggles..on my own). So I try to have her being good in different environment and be friendly. She never has problems walking in crowded place... if there are so many people walking.. of course I lift her up so nobody steps on her. I just feel that it would be too bad if we had to be extra careful instead of those owners would train their dogs before they bring them to busy place. If the dog has done that to human child... that would have been totally different story and outcome... Yes I think Haruka knew how to relax in the situation. She seems to be really fine.. and didn't get shaken up at all. She just kept licking my tears when I was shaked up! How sweet, right? She doesn't seem to have any pain anywhere... I am so glad... I truly feel that it was the owner's fault and not the dog's fault at all.... Thanks everyone for all your kind words. I was just so upset about this.... p.s. haruka means "fragrance of spring flowers" in Japanese. |
youre welcome, yeah it blows me away about how dogs are not accepted like cats. the risk being might bite someone, even in apartments as well as home rentals. the owner told me no til he saw lil suki then he said ok, lol how cute and small she was. |
So glad Haruka is ok, poor thing she seems like she's pretty easy going except for day care and once you're bit, you know it hurts. Those people that owned the other dog need a good law suit some day and then they just might remember to say I'm sorry or better yet get their dog some obedience training and that wouldn't be necessary. Hugs to little Haruka, she is so adorable and I hope you feel better soon. I would be a wreck too. |
...... OMG ... what a scare ..... I am glad to hear she is doing ok ..... |
I am doing better... and being over about it now... Haruka is relaxing in fine relaxing day!!! |

So glad you're feeling better Michiko:) |
OMG how scary! I'm glad she's ok! |
That must have been so scary! Now I don't feel so bad about carrying my spoiled brat Maltese(he hates walking on a leash). I own a Rottweiler and am totally anal about responsible dog ownership. There is no excuse for that owner's behavior. He shouldn't have that dog out in public until he and the dog go through some professional obediance classes. I know my dog and I know his body language to a tee. He heels directly by my side at all times, no exceptions. I would never let him get that close to another dog, unless I and the other owner were closely supervising. Honestly you should file a report with animal control. Like I said, he shouldn't have that dog in public and if he doesn't know any better, then maybe the authorities need to educate him. I'm so glad your girl is okay! |
I am sorry that happened you sure had a scare. I am glad she is okay |
Goodness gracious:eek::eek: Soooo glad that Haru is ok, but what a jerk:mad::thumbdown, I'm so freaking paranoid about my girls too, people even give me "the look" because I pick my girls up when I see a larger dog approaching I don't take chances with my girls, and never leave them out of the leash only in toy playdates in a closed area like xpen or back yard and always with my supervision or daddy's. Better be safe than sorry:animal-pa |
