dont let the woman near u !! U did the right thing, I cant stand it when people try to tell u its for their kids, what 6 year old can look after a dog ?? I had a similar experiance years ago selling one of my hand tame cockatiels, the woman said it was for her 9 yr old son. I said it would be her responsability NOT the childs. Anyhow to cut a long story short, she did nt listen to any of the advice I gave her, bought a cheap small cage Despite being shown and told what was suitable and assuring me she had bought a large cage, the poor bird was miserable, got sick, had vet treatment cost her more in the end and then she wanted to return the baby to me blaming me it got sick... NEVER AGAIN !!

I do believe you made the right choice. If I were a breeder I would be very choosey about who my pups went to. That lady has some serious soul searching to do if she thinks a puppy is more important then food for her kid. :thumbdown

Just an update...I DID NOT sell her the puppy. She did email me back 2x after i told her he was gone just to BI***. I read them and deleted them, without replying back, she said she does have the money to afford the dog, her daughters b-day party just cost her way to much and that was why she was having to scrape up the money, DH also told me that she called 2x gripping too, i didnt talk to her and she was hung up on, some people!! I am glad i dont have to deal with her again.

wow that's unbelievable. It sounds like she may have been trying to get the dog as a birthday present then (if she was actually throwing a b-day party) which is generally not a good reason to buy a pet... I just can't believe someone would have the gull to actually act like that with a perfect stranger, over a puppy that wasn't rightfully theirs to begin with. Amazing..

She prob has fabricated everything she's said.... I would not let her have that puppy no matter what.

I'm glad you didn't sell her the puppy. She sounds very irresponsible. If she doesn't have much money because she spend too much on her child's bday party she should have only done a birthday she could afford.


I'm not saying everyone has to have tons of savings (I know I certainly don't have a ton), but to be digging into food money and who knows what else to buy a puppy for a child just isn't responsible and shows she is an impulsive person and probably not the best to raise and care for a living, breathing animal.

It sounds like she goes overboard spoiling her child and just wanted the puppy to satisfy her daughter's want of having one.

I think you did the right thing and I hope she stops calling and harassing you! That is just nuts!
