Military fur brats? I'm curious how many of us there are that are military and have fur brats? Shouldn't there be a club for the miltary fur brats who have the extra duties of keeping mommy happy and warm when daddy is gone? Mascot is my fur brat and we haven't had to relocate until now and we will be moving from North Carolina to Japan! I wonder how the move will affect Mascot? Any other moma's to fur brats....??? How did your babies do to with the moves? |
We never had any trouble just make sure that you follow all the rules that you are told to do to bring a pet into a foreign country. If not, the pet may be return back to the states. Good Luck on your PCS |
Mimi, Timmy & Gabby are military furbrats! Their daddy was in the Marine's for 10 yrs then left and joined the National Guard because he didn't want to put us through the moving thing. Their daddy has been deployed to Iraq:( and will not be back until July of 2009. I was thinking about getting them shirts with that saying...MILITARY FURBRATS! |
We are(transfered ) with our yorkies... well jim is retired now.. but yup we traveled and got posted many times. As for going to another country.. check on what shots are expected... and hopefully you can fly with your baby on the same plane.. We lived in Germany for 4 years and back then flying with the Canadian military flights, no pets... we had 4 persian cats we flew home.. two per cage back then.. I flew out before them.. hubby took them to the German airport.. I was home to pick them up at this end.. they flew well.. I cannot see a problem with you moving your baby over there.. I might like to add,,, I think you are very lucky to be having a posting likes this... so lucky... Can I ask for how long will you go there... anne |
Well my husband is a reservist. But my yorkies kept me in good spirits and would keep me warm when he was in Iraq this past year. He come home in March and my son is still there. I hope he will be home in Sept sometime. Its really hard with them both over there in one year. I think the yorkies is what got me through it all. I wish you good luck on the move I know that has to be stressiful for you and then the dogs on top of that. Just remember to stay tough there is alot here that will talk to you when you need it. |
My Pixie is a military fur baby! My hubby is in the Royal Air Force here in the United Kingdom. We haven't moved for over 4 years now and Pixie is only 14 months old. My last Yorkie moved countless times in her 14 years and she coped very well each time..as long as she was with me she didn't seem to mind where she was. GOODLUCK with your posting!:D |
Mascot has already recieved all his shots to go to Japan, it was the 1st thing I looked into as soon as I heard we were going overseas. He still has to have a final exam within 10 days of landing in Okinawa, and I still have to send a letter to the govt of Japan to get permission to bring him which takes 40 days, but I hear they always say yes, they just need to see that he is rabie free becasue the island is. I had to have a titer pulled to show his rabies level. I am very happy to be able to have this forum so I can talk to friends until we make some there. Actually I met a girl on here that is already there with a yorkie, yellowmellie, and I think we are going to meet up there. Anyhow I am happy to see there are several fur babies on here and I am glad to hear they do well in transistion, I don't wanna stress my baby out. Thanks for writing on here!:D Dot |
