Update on Stomper Well... if you might have seen in a previous thread on Friday/Saturday, Stomper was itching and licking his rear like crazy. He is itchy all over too. In addition, he has this very strange cough like he is going to throw up. I took him to the vets. They checked his #2 and found no worms. They checked his rear and cleans his anul glands. Nothing. He was even licking and itching while we were there... They THINK he has severe allergies. Poor guy! I have two types of medical I have to give to him to see if they help. I am not one to take medication and I hate to give it to him, but...I'll give it a try for his sake. :( By the way...he was such the bad boy at the vets. :thumbdown The lady actually asked if Stomper is the boss at our house! He hates being constrained...he becomes a mess and SO stressed out. I asked them why he would do that... they said that some dogs are just like that. |
Awwww poor Stomper! I really hope the meds work and he can be back to his playful self! Simon and Hallie send get well kisses! |
good luck with everything! i hope stomper quits his itching! what type of food are you feeding him? nugget used to have flees and itched a lot but we got that all taken care of. hope the meds work! |
I do know that food can sometimes cause allergies. My mom's dog was on allgery medicine until we changed his food to Royal Canin Sensible Choice Lamb and Rice - the itching stopped and no meds were needed. Any food that uses chemical preservatives can cause dehydration and dry itchy skin. It doesn't sound like that is the case with Stomper, but changing his food is worth a try. |
He now eats Innova puppy food. |
