So cute...does your yorkie do this too? He thinks he's digging to bury a bone or something...the funny thing is...there is no dirt. haha. He'll put a treat i give him on the steps, first by digging (basically tapping the area since there are no dirt) then he'll put his treat down and use his head in to bury the "imaginary dirt" over his treat. haha. it's sooo cute, but he sometimes does it in the corner of the house or in random places that are pretty much opened for me to see. So i'll pretend to walk by it and pretend to dig it up even though there is no dirt...then he'll come over and watch me. It's so cute...but he's not upset when i dig it up...cuz he knows i always give it back to him. But it's sooo cute how he thinks he's digging something. lol. The good thing is that he doesnt dig hard and so it doesnt damage the carpet or wood floors. |

bam bam digs to get a good spot to sleep.. i havent seen him dig to hide treats but that sounds cute (and especially YOU "digging" them back up! lol).. he does take his toys he doesnt want pebbles to have and hides them in his little kennel though under the blanket but pebbles just runs in and grabs it :p |
Wylie used to bury for a while, but now doesn't (I think he likes to finish his treat completely since Marcel came along). But, Marcel - OH MY. Major "burier". And, dirtless of course - buries on the couch, on the bed, on your lap, on your shirt, near a pillow, on a blanket - everywhere. And it's a process! Takes forever - and his face is just a MESS afterward bc his face-fur is everywhere from using his face to "bury" it. LOL. |
My mom's yorkie, Jake, does this and it is SOOO cute! Tucker will dig at his blankets to make a bed, but that's it. Jake is obsessed with "digging" a hole to hide his bones though. It's adorable! |
Yes, and sometimes there isn't even a treat involved! Lexi will lay in a stack of aluminum pans we have on a shelf and dig in that. She used to dig in her litter pan (no litter - just a pee pad) too. Too funny! LOL:D |
