Poo Problem My Wiz is about 95% trained to go to the bathroom on the pee pad and outside ( which I prefer ) . However , although I am aware of his potty break pattern he seems fixated on a corner of the kitchen for his bowel movements . The thing is , even though I watch him like a hawk he has the poo out of his little body in seconds flat ...then try catching him .. I do get him outside for the poop times as much as I can but I tend to think it is more of a fluke thing then him actually connecting anything yet . Do any of your yorkies have to run and run all over before they do a poop ? I am a deaf woman so I have to watch the dog body language more than hearing anything . Thanks everyone . |
I should have mentioned he is 3 and half months old and I have had him since 8 weeks old and began housetraining immediately . |
It appears you are doing everything right. My little one was fixated on a spot in the bedroom to poo. I just kept praising her a lot when she did her business outside. Now the only time she favors that "spot" is when she gets sick. My advice is to praise him a lot outside and ignore him when he goes inside. And yes, they seem to have to move a great deal to finally decide to poo. They want your positive attention. |
Do you have the pee pad in the corner that he lkikes to go in? 3 1/2 months is still really young. I don't expect them to be 100% until they are a year old. Just keep working at it. It takes a lot of time and patience. And yes they are fast poopers LOL |
Yes I have a pee pad in the corner near my patio door and a fenced in yard but although he will pee on the pad most of the time he has never wanted to poop on it ..he seems to need this running around ritual and the pad is just not large enough for all of this tribal yorkie dancing . |
