New Here Hello everyone, I am new here. I am looking for a yorkie to love and be loved. I live near Rockford, IL. After reading several posts I think I have made my mind up not to buy from a petstore. Does anyone know of any breeders in my area?? I live about 5 minutes from the Wisconsin border, and about 70 minutes northwest of Chicago. When I was in high school I used to baby sit a little yorkie named Taffy Apple, she was so sweet, missing her right eye from a an attack by a larger dog. I just fell in love with the breed. I am sure I will have many questions, but taking the admin's advice and searching past threads. Thanks! |

WELCOME!!! Please don't buy from a pet store - they are the reason puppy mills excist. Ask your local Vet - they may know of someone. It took me almost a year to find mine and althought I did rescue one from a pet store (he had been there over 6 months, he had not had shots since he was 9 weeks old, had fleas, tape worms, underweight, and will need knee surgery due to over breeding of his mother) - I love him to death and would sell my house to care for him - but we have to all do what we can to stop puppy mills. You can also check rescues such as www.puppymillrescue.com Good Luck and hang in there it will be worth the wait. |
