Detangler Question Is it bad to use human detangler spray on our babies? I haven't but I was wondering if it would be safe to use in the mean time while I am saving up $ for the whole shampoo/conditioner/spray stuff. I had no idea this stuff could be so costly it is all I can do to save up $ to take Bailey to the vet and I am just now able to get her to the Groomer. Anyway, the product I have is V05 Detangle and Shine Leave-In Conditioner. It doesn't say anywhere on the bottle not to use on pets. Do you think it would be an ok temporary use? |
I don't think it would hurt but I could be wrong. I've used Johnson & Johnson hair detangler for kids before and it didn't hurt. I just didn't like the way their coats felt after I applied it. |

I think it won't hurt if you use it without diluting it. I know I use to use Pantene shampoo & conditioner on my babies and had no problems. |
Thanks. Well, I did it. We shall see the results later. Question for you - What brush/comb do you use? Or what would you recommend? |
It depends on their skin. Some have allergy problems and dry skin and others don't. I've always used Pantene shampoo (at least as long as I can remember) and Suave conditioner (Kacee smells like a coconut).:D Anyway, the only time I couldn't use it on Muffin was in the summer, when she had allergy problems (itching). Kacee has no problem with it at all. I use the little doggie brushes that have the nubs on the ends of the metal side and a regular brush on the other side. I use a medium metal comb with fine teeth on one end and medium teeth on the other end. (What a description! Huh?:)) |

and Suave conditioner (Kacee smells like a coconut) ---------------------------------- I used Suave Conditioner the other day, she smelled like a coconut too. :D |

Thanks, I will have to go look for those. |
I personally wouldn't recommend it as I do not use human products on my babies. My Tatum has VERY bad allergies and I know that using human products on her would only upset her skin more. I HIGHLY recommend Buddy Splash to use as a detangler. Luckily my babies don't ever tangle or mat BUT I used it on them all the time when they were puppies (that super thick puppy hair tangles very easily - especially when they wear clothes) and it works like a DREAM, smells great and is all natural ;) |
