They were warned The very same dog that got ahold of Gus and almost killed him got ahold of a puppy today and this time killed it. I am not a big fan of the dog but when they came to get her,,,,, I couldn't help but cry. She belonged to thier 5 year old boy. And he loved that dog. According to them she was a sweet and loving dog who adored both there 5 and 2 year old. And had never had a problem with her till she almost killed Gus. They were warned and fined the last time. I am glad they got the dog before she hurt another small dog, but on the other hand I can still see that little boys face and I can't help but feel so bad! |
It's unfortunate the little boy lost his dog, but I also feel horrible for the people who lost their puppy. It's too bad it took a dog being killed for anything to happen. :( |
Oh is that sad - The people who were caring for this dog should have kept it AWAY from other dogs - why would they take that kind of chance ? Now...after your baby was almost killed ANOTHER innocent dog is dead and possibly their little boys pet ? That's very sad |
It is very sad for the little boy. But it's even sadder for the parents of the puppy that had to die because of this. Hopefully the parents of the little boy can get him another dog, just one that is less aggresive, and more friendly to people and animals. And hopefully the parents of the poor puppy can find it in their hearts to forgive - it will be hard, but hopefully they can. It's a sticky situation, being neighbours and all. |
This is sad and I am sure very hard for the parents and the little boy to deal with right now. It is unfortunate that death is used as punishment at times and as mentioned in another post..."a very sticky situation". :( |
So sad... And for you too, Latuya. I didn't know about Gus being attacked! How long ago, and was he badly hurt? What kind of dog was it? Does poor little Gus hate other dogs now? My biggest fear is that Dublin won't be afraid of bigger dogs since he plays so well with his brothers and sister (30 & 40lbs), and will run across a mean dog some day... |
It is just a sad situation. Some dogs, as people friendly and adorable as they are just donnot tolerate other animals...the owner have to be responsible enough to recognize this and prevent in all ways that an attack happens... I feel sorry for the dog also...there is no winners when something like that happens :( |
Monica that is so sad for the little guy(kid). I am just curious what breed of dog was this? Do you think he(the dog that attacked) might have thought he needed to protect the little boy? Some dogs will show such loyalty to the owners that is why they attack. It is such a sad situation for all involved, including your dog who now has been tramatized. :( |

Monica thank you for sharing the link to your first post, I went and read it.... your poor baby. I know what you must have been going through. I had a miss hap with one of my mini pins- he was hit by a car when he went to greet my daughter at the mail box. I was terrified and angry  the car never stopped. He substained a head injury, road rash and a broken tooth. I am very blessed as well he is still with us 9 years later. He has complications with his brain swelling from time to time, but we are in this for the long haul. :) He is one of my treasured little ones. Keep giving Gus all of your kisses-he deserves them. It is awesome that owners of the attack dog was responsible and paid for everything, that is almost unheard of now days. |
