People "renting" pets..... Check out this article...I'm not too sure about this. It just dosent seem fair to the animals being passed around like that....what do you guys think?? Pet Rentals: Activists and Lawmakers Take Action | Newsweek Animals and Pets | Newsweek.com |
Pardon my language, but...wtf?? What is this world coming to??? Situations like these leave the poor animals open to a wide range of abuse & neglect, not to mention they don't have a secure loving, permanent home!!! Something needs to be done about this - this shouldn't be allowed! |
Pet renting.. GRRRRRR omg, who can rent a pet??? isn't there a commitment to your pet? I couldn't imagine renting my pet, I am too attached to them after 1 hour of being with them. To me it is rather heartless to even think of *renting a pet*! Imagine just what the pet goes thru too, pets are emotionally attached to their owners. They would be so sad all the time being bounced around. This is just sick :mad: |
OMG  I am sorry but i dont like that at all!! I think a dog should be in a stable surroundings with the same owner giving it the love and support it needs. Being passed around like that must make the dog very confused and upset. I dunno maybe i am wrong but i dont think that is right. :thumbdown :thumbdown |
It's crazy isn't it? :( Here is a thread with a link that our local news did a report on also. :( Flexpets |
I don't think it's that bad, I wouldn't invest in the company though, I doubt if it will attract that many people. Cost is $90.00 a month and $45.00 a day. It sounds like it works for the neurosurgeon who gone much of the time. Quote:

Well it just seems pretty bad that these people think that is okay to just "rent" these dogs out like they are a car or movie or something. I think dogs need to be handled in a certain way and every pet is different, how do these people know what that particular dogs wants or needs are with only having been around the dog for a few hours. Then you have the issue of who is repsonsible if something happens to the pet while they are "renting it out".... |
OH My Goodness!!! I am totally against this!!! I have only left Hank once with my Mother for two hours so i could go grocery shopping and he was sleepy. And i didnt like it! There is no way i would trust someone enough to leave him for at least one day. You can forget me Loaning him out or Renting him. These ppl are heartless and are not dog lovers. They are stressing these dogs out and breaking all their trusting and bonding abilities. This sickens me!:thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown:mad::mad: |

This makes me think of a new reality show called the baby borrowers. It's about teenagers who "borrow" a baby and try to take care of it. The previews show these kids fighting and screaming in front of these poor babies. Who would "loan" their baby out like this?! And who would rent out a dog!? Just because they can't verbally express themselves doesn't mean they don't have feelings! :thumbdown |

Hmmmm....not too sure about this! |
I understand the concept but why wouldn't you just babysit a friends dog for the weekend or something. I mean dogs are not meant to be passed around like rented vehicles. Do you hear me? I remember the 1st day I brought Izzy home and she was scared out of her mind. I can't imagine how these dogs feel. :( |
