I took her out back today without being in her kennel or leash. I let her know that I had a handful of treats in my hand so she was VERY excited! She went out back and stayed right next to me because she wanted a treat at first. I started walking around the yard toward the area she goes potty in and she went so I gave her a treat. She was happy about it and followed me all around the back yard after that. When we came back in, I gave her another one for being so good. I also praised her the whole time for being such a good girl! What a different dog when she knows you have treats around. :)
She is signed up for obedience classes but they dont start until the first week of August, by the way. | That is great news. You never want to spank or yell. Kacee has been lectured (and she knew it when I was potty training her) but I have never and will never yell at her or spank her. I can hold out my arms and tell her in the biggest voice I have that I love her and she'll run into my arms. That is the kind of relationship you want to build with yours and I think you will make it.:) |
