What's the best kind of harness to start with? I am looking to get baylee started on a harness. She will be two moths old on friday and is very tiny. She only weights about 1 pound. I don't necessarily want a custom made harness. Any suggestions???? |
Petsmart sells tiny nylon harnesses...even small enough for a 1 pounder. I wouldn't walk her outside until she's been completely vacinated. At least not in any publicly accessible areas. |
If I may ask....how long have you had her if she won't be 8 weeks until Friday? She's a wee baby. I probably wouldn't even attempt walking on a lead...until 3 months. |

I was just surprised to read she wasn't even 8 weeks yet. I'd be very careful where I'd expose her to outside. If you have a yard...that would be fine. All of mine played in my yard...but I knew no other dogs had been in the area. |

I meant there are diseases which survive in the ground....parvo for one. So I wouldn't expose her to areas where I wasn't completely sure of any other animals. I bring all mine to work. I know there are other dogs that are walked on the premises...I see the evidence, but I can't be sure they've been vacinated. |
I brought Pixie home at 14 weeks and she was 1lb 8oz...I didn't walk her outside at first because she was so tiny..I was terrified of something happening to her so she just had the run of the garden for the first few weeks..and to be honest that was enough for her till she grew a little more.. I have always been a fan of the Puppia harness I know they do an XXS size in some styles..Pixie is now 3lbs and she is in the XS..I love the Jacket style for her..they're so comfortable... I have 2 styles in this, the pretty pink flowery design and the combat style..so cute! I love to buy charms to hang from them too. |
I saw another tread about the freedom harness. i just purchased one on ebay for Baylee. She may not use it for a bit but I will have one handy!! |
