nutro food i remember a thread about this brand of food but couldnt remember what people thought about it? Is this a good brand to feed your babies. We usually buy eukanuba but when we went to petco today this lady said that nutro is the best because it has no fillers. just wanted your guys advice since we are the ones with the little ones. |
We were told the same thing at Petsmart and have had Eddie on Nutro for about 8 months with no good results. He was getting sick on Science Diet when he was a pup. From what I've gathered here, Nutro is among the better foods. Someone posted that the first ingredient should always be chicken or beef. Some brands start off with ground corn, and that's tough to digest. I'm still fairly ignorant about other brands. I just know Eddie's doing good on Nutro, the chicken, rice and oatmeal to be specific. |
geez it just gets confusing because i get different info from all these different places that i dont know whats right! |
I agree with you. You'd think it would be simpler. I'm sure some more knowledgeable people will weigh in on your post. |
I decided to try Nutro b/c it was recommended on this site as being good quality. That's important but better yet...Shelby EATS it! She even likes it. Amazing stuff ;) She has the puppy Lamb/Rice formula. I recommended it to a friend with a picky yorkie and her dog likes it too. whew. |
I give my girls Nutro, chicken & rice, it was recomended to us by the owner of one of the best petstores in my area, he explained the differences in all the dry kibble brands and Nutro came out to be top quality, i was told that the meat that gets processed into this dry kibble is fresh meat. Chelsey eats it without a problem, but Chanel is very finicky so i do add some hot water over hers, cool it down for her. |
I just realized I had a typo in my first post. We've had GOOD RESULTS with Nutro. Not "no" good results. |
I went to Petsmart and bought Snoodles "Royal Canin" Yorkshire mini. She really loves it, it is small bits, and is made for Yorkshire Terriers. NO BY_PRODUCTS! That is what I was trying to get away from. The bad thing is I only bought one bag, and the store is 80 miles away, so need to stock up. It is expensive, and the bag only has 3# of food in it. But, these little ones don't eat too much. Just thought I'd mention it! Pat |
Mine both eat Nutro and I've liked the results on it. Pixie especially has thrived on the puppy food. Tuffy was having pretty bad diarrhea when I was feeding him Flint River but now that he's on Nutro we haven't had that issue. Unfortunately he is starting to tear stain a little so I may have to switch him to something else.. but he's a Maltese so that's a big deal with him.. For Yorkies though, I am pleased with it and it does make Pixie's coat so shiny and healthy and she's very vibrant on it. I give it a  for Yorkies. |
lucky loves nutro i give my boy nutro also for puppies. he loves it, found it at petco way better than science diet which is what the breeder had him on. i didnt want to just switch his food so i mix both but with more nutro than sd. so far so good. once the sd is gone i will only give nutro from now on..... the last comment mentioned something about changing food because of tearing.......my boy tears all the time and i clean his eyes everyday. is this because of the food? |
Just an update on Nutros...they've sold their company and you can now buy Nutros in any grocery store. It's full of fillers now and my vet told me to switch to Eukanubah (SP?) asap. |
:eyeballpc They sold out and are now adding fillers? Is that true? I'm going to have to research that one. |
I went to their website and looked at their ingredients. It looks like good quality to me. When you look at where to buy, it doesn't list any grocery stores. |
Thats What Mine Eats. I Think Its Great :) |
