Oh i'm so ANGRY!!! This evening I walked with my hubby & Pixie to the vets to get Pixie's spay stitches removed. We were walking down a path when two teenage girls on bikes (I would say around 16 yrs) came speeding round the corner and one of them nearly hit Pixie! this girl slammed on the brakes and was laughing her head off!!! I shouted at her to be careful and told her it was illegal to ride on the path and she said that it wasn't! my hubby told her to get off her bike and actually blocked her way but she wouldn't and rode off laughing and giving us verbal attitude! we then saw her again sat outside a shop while her friend had gone inside and she was still looking at us and laughing!!! well...I saw RED and crossed the street to give her a piece of my mind! I was LIVID!! My hubby said once again that it was illegal to ride on the path and she was adamant that it wasn't..still giving us the cocky attitude..my hubby is a Town councillor and works very closely with the local police force..he told her to be VERY careful and that she didn't know who she was dealing with!:p she did seem to back down a little.. We walked to the vet and got Pixie's stitches removed then walked back the same way and they were sitting in the park we have to cross to get home..they were sitting there laughing and looking over at us..my hubby then spots an off duty policeman that he knows and we went over for a chat..we told him of the incident with the girls and he seemed to know the one we had got the abuse from and told us that this girl wants to be a police officer!!:p well..with that attitude i'm not sure she will go very far! If she had just apologised straight away that would have been the end of it..just disappoints you when you see young people behaving this way..:thumbdown |
I am sorry that you had such a terrible experience. I would have felt the same way that you did. GEESH. Good for you keeping your cool as much as you DID !!! I know it would have been difficult.................. KIDS !!! :) |

Sad they have no respect. |
I know how you feel kids are raised so different than when I was young. You could spank your kids in the 50's and 60's and they didn't grow up thinking the world owed them anything but they owed it to their parents to grow up to be good adults. Growing up in the 50's neighbors could go to your house and tell and get you in trouble. You were so much more careful as a kid. There are good kids now just not as many and you met up with a bad egg! |
That bratty teenager had no respect for adults .Sadly, this is a common thing in todays society .The kid did not care, she though it was hilarious, to nearly mow down a Yorkie and parents. I'd be pissed too. |
Rude Teenagers grow up to be Rude Adults Sorry you had to deal with Teenagers unfortunately they grow up to be rude Adults......I was walking my 3 Yorkie's yesterday morning on a path that goes around my Lake/Park, Tiffany was on leash right next to me. Abigail was off leash walking about 4 ft. ahead of me and Artie was off leash walking about 6 ft. behind me. An older woman in her late 40 or 50's came flying around the corner riding a Bike and she was screaming at Artie "Get out of the way"! Artie was'nt doing anything but walking (He's kind of slow in Hot weather since he has a long coat) he just looked up at her and stopped like she was Crazy? I turned around b/c I was startled/shocked as she passed me she called me a "Bitch" and amost ran me over! I did'nt say anything back, I just smiled & giggled b/c I thought she was so immature/juvenile and I did'nt feel like wasting my Energy. It's so sad that so many people get away with treating others so disrespectful, thank goodness for "Kharma"! |
I think she has just left school, and she wants to join the police!!!! I couldn't believe my ears! My Pixie is a tiny 3 pounder..I dread to think what would have happened if that bike had hit her..I wonder if she still would have been laughing? |
The incident may have very well been an accident but to go on and laugh at you?! Very rude. Sorry for the scare, but what can you do? Sometimes at that age that's just how kids are...selfish! Hopefully they will grow and mature a little. |

Artie, I would really have been up set with your bike rider. An adult, acting like that. When she could see your dog and yelling get out of the way. I think that you handled it very well. Over reacting and yelling wouldn't have helped the matter at all. |
