OK I'm on pins and needles! I already have a post about this somewhere but didn't find it. I just left Abbey at the vet office for her spay. I'm feeling much better about it bc I love my doc and Abbey is getting: * Pre-surgery blood work * An ECG monitor * The actual surgery * Baby teeth removed * Post surgery pain meds * An IV * A microchip I'm so glad they are doing all the pre op work. Please keep her in your thoughts!! Also the cost wasn't as bad as I thought bc they are usually a little high there. It was $310 for everything. It was a lot extra for the blood work, ECG, and IV. But worth it!! Now I wait for the call... |
Aww i hope everything goes well for ur furbaby and she comes home not in to much pain. I got a few things done at once too when Bailey went to get his manhood off hehe!! Its horrible while u wait for the call :( |
It sounds like she is in very good hands, but we'll be saying a prayer for her!:) |
Hope everything goes smoothly. will check tonight for an update! |
I will sit on pins and needles with you hon. I do hope her op goes well and everything works out.. Keeping fingers and toes crossed I'd cross my eyes but that'd give me a headache lol good luck sweetie |
waiting.....for my baby! We are thinging about you today, Chelsey and Abbey :aimeeyork.....:hands: for Abbey's complete recovery! Sounds like she is in very good hands....Mommy did her best to make sure of that. |
Good thoughts and prayers from Gracie, Boo and me. We just went thru this on Tues. It'll be a long day, but you're not alone. :) And it didn't seem to slow her down one bit. She was still a little sleepy the next day when I picked her up. But she is right back up to speed now. The hard part is keeping her quiet so she can heal. Let us know when you hear something. :getwellso Abbey |
I will be thinking of you today. Everything will turn out fine. Sending prayers your way .:) |
OK they just called and she is in surgery right now!!! They said all her blood work was good and they will be removing 5 teeth. They said they would call when she wakes up! I want her NOW! |
Hope all goes well :) |
OK I just saw a post that was from today about someone's yorkie who passed away yesterday while being nuetered. Allergic to the meds. I feel so bad for this person. And as if I wasn't already FREAKING OUT I am sooooo worried now. I'm in tears from reading that post. Oh my... |
my wookie is going in to get neutered too next week. i am very worried about him! i hope the best of everything for you and your precious little one! oh and how do you know when its time to take baby teeth out? :animal-pa |

You're vet should be able to tell. Usually if they are doubling up or crowding, they need to be pulled. IT helps keep their mouth nice and healthy. It's also good to ask for it to be done along with the spay or nueter so they only have to be put under anesthia once. Good luck!! |
Positive thoughts coming your way! Everything will go well i'm sure;)..I had my 3lb baby spayed 2 weeks ago, she had her stitches removed this evening..she did brilliantly...almost back to herself within 24 hours! I was so relieved..I had put it off for months because i was so worried. |
I know the waiting is very hard, but like I said, it sounds like she is in safe hands. I said a special prayer for her. |
I know what you`re going through our Darla was spayed last Thursday. I was sooooooo scared too. Just make sure that you have pain meds. for the next several days. We had to take Darla back to the vet & get some.It took her a few days but she acts fine now!!!:)We get the stitches out tom.YAY!!!! :D |
OK I just picked her up. She is SOOO pathetic. I feel so very bad for her. She is extremely groggy and can hardly open her eyes. She can't walk either. They took out 5 teeth also and she has blood on her face but I can't wash it off!! She is not licking her stiches so I haven't put a onesie or e-collar on. Her incision is tiny though. And she has internal stitches and the vet said they would desolve so she doesn't have to go back to have them removed. They gave me a bunch of pain meds for the next few days and also some antibiotics for her teefers. Oh she is just so sad though, she wakes up and just stares at me and cries. Poor gal. The vet said she did awesome though and had no issues with waking up or anything. They also gave me the teeth and they are HUGE. They are very long, I'll post pics later. Thanks for all the well wishes!! I'm sure she'll be back to herself in no time. Until then, don't worry, she is being very pampered. I set up a great sleep spot for her all around the house. She's as comfy as is possible. |
