The most wonderfull feeling in the world! I have to share this..as most of you already know..I got Riley from a really bad breeder and he was extreamly sick and never had much human contact..so he was EXTREAMLY afraid of people..anyway it has been close to 1 month that we have had him, and I have been totally in love from day one...he has come such a long way with his confidence and more importanly, his health,,,he has a clean bill of health now...and he even looks like a differnt puppy..:D....but today we had a real brake through....I had him and my bichons out in our fenced in yard and my neighbor down the street hollered for me, so i left the yard and went down the street. I was gone for about 15 minutes or so. well when I came back I opened the gate and entered the yard..Riley came running full force across the yard,..:doghop: and i bent down and he actually JUMPED in my arms...:jump28ib:....and he just kept jumping and licking my face...( I was sitting in the grass in awe at this point)...I have never seen any of my babies this happy to see me before...I could not believe it,,,I was soooo happy and shocked at the same time I was almost in tears!..this coming from the same puppy that not quite 4 weeks ago was so scared of us that he would run and hide every time that we ventured near him...he has been making such good progress with his socialization, but this was just beyond what I was expecting....I cant even describe how good that made me feel...I was so happy for him that he felt confident enough to do that....and all day he has been my little shadow following me EVERYWHERE. he is just such a sweet little guy..and we are blessed to have him in our family....:yorkiesar |

What a wonderful thing to have happen...it made me cry. For him to be so terrified to so free to express his gratitude, oh, makes my heart smile. |
I am so happy for you and your little furbaby, that is such good news. You much have felt on top of the world when he started lickin you. In just 4 weeks :D he muct really trust you what a wonderful job you have done :) |
Im so happy for you and your baby, its really amazing how theses babys are,i got my skip in february from here,he was 11 months old and his owner was allergic to him and i believe he was in his crate more than out and he had no social skills either,i just loved on him and gave him time and put his little blanket on a pillow in the middle next to my head and he has slept there since the first night,he would not let me touch him at first but now he is such a joy seeing him blossom and grow into my little character and he makes me laugh and im so glad i found him,i have four and each personalty is not the same, just like people and they all look different also, skip is my avatar. I noticed in your profile you are a paranormal investigator, what a interesting job. |
awh.. That is so sweet.. I was getting ready to post my heart felt story.. I had to stop and share yours...that is a beautiful thing to read this morning.. Congrats... |
Great story with a great ending..... Lots of love in that house!! |
Awww what a wonderful feeling!! |
thank you all for your warm words...:).....I stll have not stoped smiling....;) |
Oh! don't you just have that warm fuzzy feeling? I remember our little guy at first as he is an ex-mill dog. And then the break through when I got my first kiss from him. You really can't have a bad day after that!:D:animal-pa |
It sounds like Riley has come full circle. It sounds like, in your hands, he will be a very well-socialized puppy and a very happy one, too.:D |
Thats amazing...i'm happy for you. |
Oh my, tears when I read that. Amazing! I know the feeling well, though not with a puppy but a lil boy next door. I tried for 5 months to get just a lil smile or anything out of him, and he would not come near me or even look at me. FINALLY one day he came to my house with his lil sister and he sat on the porch and started clapping... so I clapped as many times as he did each time, and he smiled.. it made my world! Now he comes over and sits in my lap and loves on me all the time.... he is autistic so this is HUGE..... and reading your story with your wonderful lil fur baby gave me tears of joy just as Nathanial did with just a smile. Congrats I know you are over the moon with this! |
