Geoffrey just chewed through my cell phone charger! Darn. I thought that she wasn't going to be a wire chewer. Now I have to proof the house for electrical wires. Any advice on the best way to do this? |
Well, the best way is to be sure all wires and anything else you dont want chewed up... are out of his reach. They only do what we allow them to :) |
Tucker did that to me, too! And long after he had outgrown that phase...I guess it was just too tempting. I try to keep all wires out of his reach and I've also sprayed Bitter Apple on the wires so he won't chew them. I've heard clear deodorant works, too. Good luck! |
ugh, that bitter spray tastes terrible. maybe I shouldn't have tested it myself. Geoffrey better agree! |
Suzi chewed up my lap top cord...... I know how you feel .. Got to love em , LOL . You can buy cord covers , and bitter spray to stop these guys from chewing . btw, I still have not replaced my cord... |
2 laptop cords, Christmas tree, ps2 cord (boy was his daddy mad), a cell phone charger, and a ummm toy that was left on the bed (mommy got mad on that one!) don't even get me started on wood products. Thankfully hubby loves them more then his hundred year old bookcase! |
There is a site, I think it was mentioned here a while back, like a year or so. They sell some very indestructive wire protective casement. It wraps around your cords and pretty much can't be chewed up. I'll look for it, can't remember the name right now. |
Cord covers and bitter apple. I have been there and I sympatize. The good news is they outgrow the chewing stage so just be patient |

I would invest in a roll of black electrical tape. Just about every wire connected to everything in the house has chew marks. Our apartment is just so small, yu think everything is out of the way but Chewie STILL gets a hold of the craziest things. |
Roxie just chewed throught the usb cord for the printer. Luckily she was fine and I had a spare cord. I thought we were done with that at 10 months old. I have all cords covered but my dtr isn't always careful with her computer cords. I found that the bitter apple didn't always stop them so I just cover wires now. |
