Welcome. It looks to me like your baby has a silky coat and they tend to grow slower. My Pixie has that type of coat and I love it. It is pretty and easy to takw care of, It will grow as she get's older. It really looks pretty good for an 8 month old puppy. |
I think her coat looks good! Very shiny |

help me |
coat Her coat looks normal in amount for her age to me. As to her "rump" being higher, that is called.."down at the shoulders"..and that is a structure fault..you can not correct a poor top line. You can disguise it at bit, by keeping the lead taut when you show her..sometimes it will cause the dog to stretch it neck upward and not look so bad...but this only works on a slightly off top line....but the second you loosen the lead the judge will see the fault...Good Luck PS..I looked at the photo again...her rump roachs a touch...perhaps with most age and confidence she will level out...keep working with her.. |
It's not really fair to judge the topline while she's being groomed. Does her topline look good when she's on lead? Some will roach the top line while on the table as a response to rough grooming habits or just lack of confidence. Make judgments on her topline while she is somewhere that she feels confident. If she is on the floor and feeling confident and you still see the roach in her top line...it's a structure problem, judges don't miss that type of thing. Topline problems are not problems with the back, they are symptomatic of problems in another assembly, problems that will be apparent in the movement. On the coat I don't see anything to worry about, she looks good for eight months of age. Good Luck! |
Welcome to YT! :wavey: I really do not know anything about show dogs - best wishes for her coat and carriage to continue to come in |
