I dont know what to do?! So Hank (my four month old yorkie poo) eats 1/4 cup dry food twice a day. And i am a paramedic who works 24/48 hour shifts. Hank goes with me to work and when i go on calls he stays in my bunk room. ( I have and awesome boss!) My problem is that my husband has a 25lbs. 15 week old old english bulldogg. Well the pup isnt my problem the problem is they are on separate foods due to their separate needs and Hank has gotten tall enough to reach Zellic's (the old english pup) food bowl and will stuff his face with zellic's food and the next day he has diarrhea. I try to watch him and keep him from eating it. But when i have been up for two days at work im exhausted and doin a lot of catching up. Also my husband believs in free feading (as much as he wants all day long), and i dont. Any suggestions on what to do? |
The only thing other then stopping free feeding I can think of is to keep them seperate, obviously thats not a good choice. Can you convince your DH to not free feed, It really isn't necessary and would solve the issue |
During the times when you are in need of rest is it possible to put your pup in an xpen? It is safer then freely warndering the home where not only is he able to get in the other dogs food, but also chew on other things he shouldn't (ie. cords, furniture, etc). The only other possible solution I could think of - and don't laugh - tupperware. They usually have lids that snap down tight. It may not be a cure, but it is one solution. Any one else? |
You have to separate them while feeding ..... put one in the crate while the other one eats ..... |
Thank you guys for sharing your Ideas. You guys are always too helpful |
