How do you stop a boy from peeing on himself?? For the past two mornings when Rylie pees, it hits the hair on his front leg. It happens off and on but is really happening more frequently now. Is there anything you can do to keep them from peeing on their hair (I am NOT cutting his hair) or am I just destined to rinse his leg off every morning?? |
Sorry I have no boys now. But someone will come to your rescue and give you some suggestions. I'd hate to think you have to wash them all the time. That could be alot of washing in a day. |
Well michele that is a hard one.. for kacee, brandie and pepsie never did this.. but dallas.. all the time.. if it does not get washed off.. it gets yucky... I trimmed his hair underneat as much as I could without it harming his coat look.. so you can try that..but other then washing him with a wet one after each pp.. that is all I can help you with.. some one might come up with a better solution.. I hope so for I would love to know also..anne |

well you could use a bellie band on him but that tends to mat the coat, I would try raping the hair on each side of the coat in 2 sections when you take him out to potty, the show beeders here can show you how or take a look at salliesyorkshires.com click on the grooming button it shows you how to rap them, a hair scunche or a hair clip could be used to pen both sides up on his back when you take him to potty, you can bath him more often as well like once a week, but remeber to condition the coat well just like your on hair, a good leave in conditioner well work well too, Hope this helps Denise good? ans post by the way. |

I have the morning problem with my skin 5 yr old, cept it goes all over the toilet not his leg lmao I was going suggest using wraps to just wrap up the hair on the leg that this happens too.. I guess that is probably just as much work if not more then washing his leg though. |
A show breeder told me that if you let the hair grow long on the males shaft that it will act as a wick and keep the pee from getting all over the coat. But then you would have to wipe off his wet winkie. The only other option would be to try to put his coat in scrunchies when you take him out to pee or teach him to squat like a girl.:) |

Joey's breeder told me to leave the hair on the tip about in inch or so long, it's called a pee sting, and acts to direct the flow of the urine. Joey's coat is really long and he never gets it wet. I thin out the hair and cut to a point like an artist's brush, and it dries very fast. Here's a link with more information on the pee string.
