My Jaxon is gone...
 

I know I haven't posted in a long time and for that I do apologize. I've been so occupied with life that I've just not been able to.

We lost our beloved Jaxon today, our Cocker Spaniel. He got out some how this morning and the dog catcher caught him. On the way home with Jaxon, my husband didn't notice that the dog had jumped out of the truck until he couldn't find him in the rear-view mirror. My baby had been drugged along the asphalt. His hind leg was severely hurt and the vet said he couldn't be saved. I stayed with Jaxon until he died, whispering how good of a dog he was and how much I will miss him. He looked up at me with his big brown puppy eyes like he understood me and wraped his paws around my arm. That's what he always did when he wanted my attention. He went so peacefully and I wept bitterly. I've had Jaxon in my life longer than I've had my youngest child. I taught him how to fetch, how to sit, how to "sing", how to shake hands...and that dog would play fetch all day long if you were up to it. When I came home, my children were devastated, of course. Especially my oldest. And even Nico is looking for his playmate. He misses Jaxon, too.

Does the pain stop? I can't stop crying.

I'm crying too ! He was comforted by having his mommy with him... That's was mommy's are for !!!

I am so sorry about Jaxon. I am glad you were able to be with him. The raw pain lessens with time but you will always miss him.

Oh..I'm so sorry for you...what an awful thing to happen..you were right there with him and that was a comfort for him..I wish I could ease your pain..hugs to you and your family.

OMG! I'm soooo sorry for your loss... the pain will get better and replaced by precious moments of remembering...

:cry: I am soooo sorry to hear you lost your Jaxon. I know words aren't enough, but time will help heal your broken heart! Atleast you were able to spend his last minutes comforting him!!!

I am so very sorry for you loss. Yes, the pain does eventually dull but never goes away. Take your time and let yourself grieve. Jaxon knew just how much you loved him, never forget that. Oh my goodness - I'm so sorry for your loss and the tragedy that your poor baby went through. It was an accident, so don't blame yourself. Try to have comfort in knowing that you gave him a great life while he was here with you and your family...
