MAD! Take a look at this! So sick of seeing it! I dont even have the words to say right now! I am sooooo upset, this person is advertising for her yorkie having "teacups in her family tree" Teacup Yorkshire Terrier puppy, Female, Tiny Companion. I am so sick of BYB selling pups for more by saying things like this! So guys just had to vent after seeing this one. |
I've got it!!! :D Maybe she takes the brain cells in her head and times it by 100 and that how she comes up with that ridiculous price!!!!:thumbdown:thumbdown |
lol To funny.......Thanks for the laugh after that ad, i really needed it! |
I understand that if they have good bloodlines and you want a show dog then some are willing to pay that much and breeding dogs is not inexpensive. But, it does bother me a bit when they ALWAYS say teacup. :( |
I'm tempted to email her and give her an education! Of course registration is APRI - what else?!?! |
Its so hard.... it's like saying being less than a 100 lbs for a woman is healthy. its just advertisment. I went to target yesterday and saw a shirt for Paris. I had to buy it, it said "J'adore Paris" with the eiffel tower, sooo cute, anyways on the tag it said "XS for teacup breeds" so, our toy breeds are being advertised by the media/clothing, etc. People see it and think that's the best way they can sell their puppies. Every outing with Paris its the same conversation "Oh, do you have a teacup yorkie?" Me: "um, no, she's just smaller than you're normal yorkie" "so, she's a teacup then" Me:" Well, i'm 4"11, shorter than the average human, does that make me a teacup person? No, so everyone is just a different size, including other species in my case my dog" it'll never change. It's an image thing |
"Its so hard.... it's like saying being less than a 100 lbs for a woman is healthy. its just advertisement" If under 100 pounds as an adult is not healthy then I better get to the Doctor.....:D Not trying to brag because I would like to be around 115-120 but I am only 99 pounds. 101 on a good day! But I JUST CANT STAND people asking if my baby is a "teacup" SIZE IS SIZE no mater how small they are. some are healthy some are not! What I have a problem with is people advertising their pups as teacups so someone buys one, normally at a high price, and then complains that their dog is not the size the "breeder" said it would be. It was supposed to be a "teacup" but is got to 5 or 6 pounds!!!!!! I had a lady come up to me and Essie one day (essie is 4 pounds) and she said. "wow thats a big yorkie" I said to her, "You might want to do some research on yorkies, because she is standard and she is NOT big. She's only 4 pounds and that is on the small side for yorkies. You get anything smaller and your going to be in constant worry about whos holding them, if they are playing to rough or even worse, at the vet all the time cause your "TEACUP" isn't healthy. People like that are a disgrace to ALL of us Yorkie owners/lovers |

what really annoyed me was that in the current issue of CosmoGirl! ( dont as why i have a subscription. lol it was free) Lindsey Lohan's Little sister is being interviewed and she took pics of her favorite things. In one pic she said this is my MICRO MINI Maltese and lists some ridiculously small weight. Micro Mini is the new teacup and teacup is the new fat :( it just keeps getting worse and worse |

Other than the poster's obviously uneducated use of the description of "teacup", I thought it was actually a very nice, informative listing... and the baby is precious... JMO of course... but if you guys are going to get "soooooo upset" over every person that uses the word "teacup" to describe a small dog - - you're in for a very long life of torment.... The information is out there.... eventually more and more people will come to recognize the reality of the TERM "teacup"... but the fact is, it's JUST a word.... the tiny pups will STILL be around... STILL be sought after... and STILL cost much more than your "standard - 7 lb and under" Yorkie. And like ALL Yorkies... the tiny ones will be JUST AS "prone to illness" as ANY other York.... they are simply predisposed to so much as a breed... Being tiny, doesn't necessarilly mean being unhealthy... (this coming from the mom of an 8 month old 23 ounce baby who passed away from illness) - Why continue to let it get to you? This pup in particular though.... actually costs less than MANY of the "standard size" Yorks I see everyday. <<shrug>> Guess I don't see what all the fuss is about with this one.......... |
I get mad at some of the clothes because on the tag for XXS at walmart, it lists yorkshire terrier. (You know how they list the breed type for that size?) Well, my puppy at 4 months old is just over 3 lbs and the xxs is too small for her!!! |
[QUOTE=ProfessorPeteZa;2121621]I HAVE THAT target shirt and hat! Almost all the clothes there say teacup breeds. >:-( what really annoyed me was that in the current issue of CosmoGirl! ( dont as why i have a subscription. lol it was free) Lindsey Lohan's Little sister is being interviewed and she took pics of her favorite things. In one pic she said this is my MICRO MINI Maltese and lists some ridiculously small weight. Micro Mini is the new teacup and teacup is the new fat :( it just keeps getting worse and worse[QUOTE Exactly!!! And Dena - see this is where the problem comes in - the word is used as a marketing ploy - and they have to keep coming up with smaller and smaller ones. Some people always have to have the "tiniest, the best, the most expensive, etc." and if this keeps going on, I can see breeders under feeding puppies, just so that they will be the tiniest. The dam is 4.5lbs, not exactly the best of weights to breed. The registration is APRI, which is used by commercial breeders and those that can't register AKC. The price of the yorkie doesn't bother me if she were to come from a reputable exhibitor/breeder. |
