How much for spaying - is this a fair amount My Lola is getting spayed today and the Vet's office just called me to give me the total cost of the procedure. She is getting Spayed, microchipped and getting 1-2 teeth extracted for 449.95. The price includes the blood work, pain med, and antibiotics. What do you guys think of this price? Of course I am proceeding with the surgery, but just wanted to compare. Thanks, AP |
Costs vary by area of the country and vet. This sounds fair to me but I paid almost $700 for a laproscopic spay and removal of 9 baby teeth. A regular spay is much cheaper. |
I don't know how much it costs to have them microchipped so I cannot be of help in that area. We just got Maggy May spayed recently and the pre-surgery blood work was a little over $50, the spay itself was $117, they also removed 1 remaining baby tooth at my request and it was $5 for that, that's a total of $172, but you also have to take into consideration here that my vet hardly EVER charges me full price for things, I think it's because we spend so much time and money there with our furkids assuring they are healthy, plus we've taken on caring for a stray cat who's had more than her fair share of medical issues. Maybe someone else can be of more help here. Good luck to you and your lil one. |
Wow that is alot. I don't know how much micro-chipping is there could be alot of paper work with that. |
Sounds typical of Miami prices. It was almost that much for my babies here. |
I live in NJ and the cost for a spay here is $350.00. That is without teeth being extracted but covers the blood and if needed pain meds. And, that is for a neuter or a spay - there is no difference in price. Elaine |
I dont know about your area, But I just Had spartan (my siamese cat) nuetered and micro chipped and my total was $85 with meds and flea prevention. Essie's spay I am holding off on untill I know if any baby teeth are being pulled but her spay and micro chipping and meds total is going to be $165 teeth are $5 each. Hope that helps. Although prices differ I dont think I could ever put a price tag on the health of my baby. Even if my vet charged $900 I would still have it done, because I trust my vet and my vet only. even if it was cheaper elsewhere I would still use my vet. |
Prices are pretty high here in CA but I paid $489 for BOTH my girls to be spayed and one of them was microchipped and had 4 teeth pulled! It sounds high to me but if you are comfortable with them then it is a small price to pay for piece of mind!! Good luck! |
Wow it seems a lot of money.. I don't remember exactly but mine was much cheaper.. I think less than $200. |
I paid 175.00 for both of mine and that included all of Timmy's baby canines pulled. |
Chloe got her babytooth pulled, microshipped and spayed at the local humane society clinic for less than $100..I think around $85? You should check it out if you have one around you. They are very pro and I was really pleased with them! |
I just paid $350 but that also included heart worm meds for Zoey. So that sounds about right to me. |
i paid 452 for all three things to be done to Abby. I still havent sent the microchip info (i know terrible) it kind of confuses me i guess i have to read iit more carefully. |
Mia was spayed, microchipped, blood work, and had two teeth extracted and it was $275total and I'm here in CA... i think that also included a $40 stay at the vet and she had no med's. |
We had Darla spayed yesterday & it was $392. Here you can get them spayed for $127.50 but that doesn`t include anything else. It was $58.00 for the SMAC & blood work.IV catheter/ insetion $39.50 Had to have that or she wouldn`t of had any drip,( I thought that was needed).Well then the price of the IV fluids $8.95, extract 2 baby teeth $30.00,Then we had to the urine cultured that was $87.06. Along with other charges ......I guess they put all the stuff as extras for just more $$$$$$$ |
