omg chloe just killed a bird!! my dad opened the door and a bird flew into the house and my sister called my down to see it and of course chloe followed then she saw it and all hell broke loose! she chased it and caught it in her mouth and was running around with it!!! my little sister was crying when she saw it was in her mouth omg i cant stop laughing thats so mean but i cannot believe that the first time a bird has ever been in my house this little hunter caught her!!!! she like leaped in the air and got it!! poor little birdie |
As much as we would like to think they are not hunters and killers they were breed as ratters. It is so natural for them. |
i know! i tried explaining it to my sister and my dad but they're both upset about it my sister is traumatized now! |
I thought my Chloe was crazy for eating a butterfly! You've got a real live huntin' dog!! :D |
Poor bird :( I would have cried too... that's just how I am |
It is sad but explain to them that the dog doesn't know better and really the bird may have had something wrong to fly into the house like that anyway. It could have crashed into a wall and died even. |
Matty caught a bird a few days ago! She didn't kill it though. I managed to get her away from the bird before it had a heart attack. I don't especially like this side of her, but I do appreciate that she still has the terrier instinct and isn't a watered down version of what she should be. |

WOW! That is sad, but truly amazing. I wonder what Sasha would do if a bird flew into the house... |
I'm so glad I'm reading this thread, I just found a cockatiel,(to add to all we already have)this one is just a baby and I want to train her/him to be out of the cage for a while and to be on my shoulder. This morning, while I sat in front of my computer, checking what was new , YOU KNOW WHERE..;),Max was on my lap and the bird on top of Max, it was a Kodak moment, but I guess after reading about Chloe, it wont be doing this again  |
I have bird killers too. They don't discriminate for age either...young old...doesn't matter. |
Tetley's a natural bird hunter. I can't even say the word, b-i-r-d or he goes insane. Ok, that might have something to do with the fact that I taught him the command 'get the birdie!' so he will chase the occasional pigeon off the balcony (I live in a high rise in the city). His favorite game is to run into a flock of pigeons sitting on the grass in the park to watch them all take flight at once. I'd hate to think what he'd actually do if he caught one though... |
i feel like shes having killers remorse shes been sleeping and laying around ever since my poor babyyyyyyy |
My Molly got a baby bird outside it was learning how to fly and molly got it. She didn't kill it though because I saved it and mama Robbin wasn't to happy with me she came flying down at my head and scared the crap out of me that's what I get for saving her baby |
i would have been screaming and crying too...i don't like seeing things like that... |
