I only registered Joey with the AKC because I believe in what they are trying to accomplish. I think they are doing a good job in ridding themselves of poor breeders, and they are the only registry that does unannounced routine inspections of dog kennels as well as DNA testing. If Joey wasn't eligible to be registered with AKC, I would not have registered him with any of the alternative registries because they pretty much will accept any dog, so what's the point? Unless you truly believe in the registry, there is no reason to register the dog. A registered dog isn't any better than an unregistered dog. ACA probably means a puppy mill dog. They are the registry that Petland uses. I hope you don't send them any money, you will really just be endorsing puppy mills. Here's some information about the different registries: Registries |
