How cute :) |

Does it matter if they stand up or not? I kind of like the flopped over look so we haven't trimmed or done anything, but I don't want it to mess up her hearing or mess up her ear tissue. |
Both my Misty's parents had floppy ears. I was concerned because I like the ears straight up. They were very thin, and I thought it might be a lost cause. I tried the different methods on the net, but the most successful was to shave the tops, then fold them in half and tape them with scotch tape. It is easier to take off, and works far better then just taping them up with them open. Wait about four days, take off, and if still drooping, tape again. It took me a lot of trys to get them to stay up. If just one droops again, just tape that one. She now has nice straight up ears! :D Pat |
wookies ears didnt go all they way up until he was 13 weeks...and we kept his ears trimmed...(the shaver made him go bonkers, so we used scissors ) and when they were up we were happy. but then around 15 weeks one went down...lol oh well, so cute! =] :animal-pa |
Everybodies different... I think that they are cute either way. However, it has been my recent experience that at 14 weeks old KrissieBella had one ear that lopped and one straight up. I had the groomer trim her ears (in case it was the hair). I didn't have to tape her ears (where sometimes it is necessary), but I would find myself folding her ear and holding it when we would sit around together. One week later....both ears are straight up. She is a baby doll!~ I have read that during the teething process their ears will sometimes go from a standing position to a lopped position. They can change either way. I would give her baby some extra time, they will pop up over night. There is sometimes the condition that their cartilage is too thick and that can weigh their ears down permanently, but they are still adorable!! Peace and Love, |
I can't answer the question ... just wanted to say ... CUTE PUPPYS !!!! |
Ok, Baylees ears are still floppy. She's not two months old yet but I don't mind the floopy ears!! I like them. Is it bad that it won't bug me if her ears don't stand up?? |
I have 2 Yorkies. One has floppy tipped ears that never stood no matter what I did (Rubbing, taping, shaving, taping with popsicle sticks) and the other has ears that have been held erect with no help from me at all when she was 9 weeks or so.....One day her ear would flop and stand the next day and the other ear would flop. Then both of them stood...Just genetics at work.........:) |
I'm telling you, just fold them in, tape with scotch tape--Not Masking Tape--leave for a week, take off, if still droops, tape again leave for a week, etc.. It works really, really, good! Pat |
Bailey's ears were floppy when she was a pup and I really wanted them to stay that way - it was soooo cute. But after her first groom - which, by the way, was a shave  - her suddenly noticable, rather LARGE ears - stood straight up - without any hesitation. And you know - they are just as cute as her puppy floppy ears. |

I shaved her ears. Use scotch tape---much easier to take off than masking tape. Just fold together Long ways and tape. Usually just once around will hold them. TAke off in a week, if still droops, tape again for 5 days. Keep doing until they stand up. If they start to droop again, tape again for a few days. Mine took me a few weeks, as neither her mother or her fathers' ears were up. But she has nice straight up ears now. Pat |
awww so cute I have no advice but thought I would add how adorable they are!!! |
Cookies first litter (after I got her) had ears that went up between 6 and 8 weeks. With Ciara's litter, I had pretty much given up on 3 of thems ears ever going up. I taped them and it didn't do any good. Then between 12 and 13 weeks they went up all on their own. Now this last puppy that Cookie had was born with his ears up and they never went down. He's 12 weeks now and ears have been up the whole time. |
