My grandparent's shih tzu, Carly, does not have a face that looks sad. Her face is actually pretty happy looking. Wish I had a pic, but I don't. |

It looks like a cherry eye to me. You would think if she is a good breeder she would take the dog to the vet and have her eye fixed. Your friend should ask about her eye and general health even if she is not going to get the puppy, Just to see what she says. |
My friend already asked about it and is waiting for a reply. She wished she had noticed it before she fell in love with this pup. Most shih tzus I've seen have a bit of a sad face. Ours did and that was part of his charm. They also have that kinda squishy face. Pam |

That puppy does look sickly. Here is a link to a six month old pup(only 4 months younger than the one you friend is looing at) he looks alot healthy and notice the size difference. Has the lady send your friend any body pictures of the dog so you can see her whole body not just her sad little face? I don't think it is common for a Shih Tzu to weigh 3 pd's all that I have see are 7-16 pd's. Shihtzu Puppies for Sale, Black Shihtzu puppies for sale |

I do know that this particular breed is prone to eye problems. The little dog is way too tiny. Your friend could be in for a lot of pricey vet bills. I would ask the breeder if the dog has seen a vet recently, and if there is a health clearance. I do not think that your friend is going to want to bring home a dog who is riddled with health issues, no matter how much she wants the animal, she needs to consider these important factors . :aimeeyork |
I don't think the puppy looks healthy. I would pass on the puppy. And I don't know about her Biewers either....she told me she was getting out of the Biewers because her husband was allergic to them. This is the first time I have ever heard of someone allergic to a hypo-allergenic dog--not saying I disbelieve this but it is questionable. The Biewers and the Shihtzus have no dander and do not shed. |
