Chip AND Smokey got loose today My aunt was coming home and Smokey slipped right out the door. I bolted after him with no shoes on or anything and Chip followed me. Smokey headed right for the street. I was screaming for him to stop. Thankfully I think he is afraid of cars cause just as one passed, he cowered and I was able to catch him, but boy was he having fun running. My cousin was helping me run to catch him. I wasn't so much worried about Chip cause I knew he was running with me, not from me. In my run, I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and arm, I have blisters on my feet from being barefoot and running across rocks and pavement, and my throat is on fire from screaming. I'm just glad we got them back. |
I'm so glad it worked out OK. I try to train mine to not go in the street but my Teddy will try to chase cats in the neightborhood and get out if he can. He has only done it twice but I know how you feel! |
I'm so glad Smokey is okay, but I am so sorry for the trauma that his little escapade cause to your body. Healing thoughts. Joanne |
Oh you poor dear. That must have been so scarry for you. I am glad he stopped before he was hurt. It sounds like it is going to take you a few days to heal. Hugs. Those little stinkers are so fast. |
How scary!! Glad you got him. Hope you feel better soon |
Scary! My neighbors dog gets out all the time. He's not a yorkie, but he's really small and can slip right through the gate. It's one of my biggest fears that Lola will dart out of the house and out to the street. She's so fast I'm not sure I would be able to catch up with her. I'm glad you had a happy ending. |
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I got so STRESSED OUT just reading about your experiences. PHEW !!! I know exactly how you feel. These little dolls are LIGHTNING FAST and can dart around/under things we could never imagine. When we had Taylor for nearly 2 weeks she managed to get away from me for 4 minutes. My heart went right out of my chest and my whole body was shaking. I was calling out to her and running around my neighbours backyard like a mad woman. LOL My neighbour cam out wondering what on earth I was doing running all about his yard. LOL I was too upset to even care. I just told him my puppy was loose and I HAD to find her. Well my neighbour helped me look and he found her beside his front fence. I was sooooooooo relieved but still quite shaken. I get upset even typing about that experience. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LOL I am very glad your darlin is SAFE. You will heal in no time. OBVIOUSLY you would do ANYTHING for your Yorkie. CONGRATULATIONS on a job WELL DONE !!! |
Well glad your little one is safe. Its hard to watch them when they are so quick. I hope you heal soon. I know you didn't even think about that when you were running. |
I'm sure you are worse for the wear, but I'm glad your little one's are ok. It's something that will always stay with you, too. What a terrible fear it is! |
thank god ur all ok...i lost a dog once like that the car was speeding and killed our magic he was my brothers dog but more of the family dog and it was horrible..thats y i always shut the door before martini even thinks bout runnin out so i am glad he is ok |
Bless your heart, I know you were freakin' out. Thank goodness all is well. Hope you're ok. |
This happened to me last friday. i put the garage door up and didn't know the door from the kitchen to the garage wasn't shut. Here they come down the driveway. I was babysitting my friends dog also so there were 3. Only my yorkie is a runner. Luckily he went right across the street into the backyard that is fenced on 3 sides. I was able to get him, Thank God. He hasn't gotten out in 2 years. I also hurt my shoulder but only realized it after we got back and safely in the house. So glad you got your baby back safely. They sure can make us a nervous wreck can't they. |
Thanks guys. I'm really glad we got these two back safe and sound too. We live in a suburban neighborhood and they street they were heading for was a busy road . I was prepared to run in front of a car to stop them. My mom jumped in her car and was going to block traffic lol. I don't know what I would have done if I would have lost one or both! Thankfully I knew Chip wasn't running from me. He just thought we were running for the fun of it and was running with me. He's also not as fast as Smokey, but Smokey is like a shot out of a cannon. I'm also glad I wasn't alone trying to catch them. I had me and my cousin running, my mom and aunt in the car, and my husband behind us with treats. |
I never had the knowledge or time to spend teaching Kacee to stop. However, I have a trick that I use with her when I want her to come to me (I don't overuse this because it wouldn't work if I did). I sit down and cry out loud and she can't stand to see a grown woman cry, so she immediately comes running to me!:D |
Oh how scary. I'm glad your little ones are okay. Losing my pup would be a nightmare... |
