Second hand compliment I guess is better than none. I had Buddy to the vet last month for his yearly. The vet said his teeth are looking good. I was very pleased. I talked to my daughter, we use the same vet, this morning and she took my grandpup(pug, Harley) for his yearly yesterday. The vet told her that Buddy was in and in all his years of practice has never seen a dog with such white teeth. He was amazed and wondered what I was doing! Hello, why didn't he ask me? I would have gladly told him so he could pass it on to his clients. I find that annoying that he didn't tell me that. Well for those of you who are using Petzlife and brushing keep up the good work and for those of you who are hesitant start because it really pays off.:D |
At least you got the compliment so you know how well you are doing! But the vet really should have told you he was so pleased! Out of curiosity, how young should they be when you start brushing? Scooter is 16 weeks and his mouth is so small I don't think I could get a brush or my finger in there! |
nice going buddy boy:thumbup::thumbup: good job carol.. i wish i could brush lexi's teeth.. no can do.. |

loose their teeth very early if not taken care of. It did help that his mouth was a little larger being a bigger boy. I have read on here where owner's have used a piece of gauge to clean the little one's teeth so they get use to having the hand in their mouth. Good idea to start now. It's another chore to do but believe me it will save you $$ down the road. |
yeah ok but i will wind up with 9 fingers after i try.. |
Carol, think of it this way..... If you had told your vet what you were doing, then he would have been obligated to share the information with his other clients and just think how much $$ he would lose on teeth cleanings. :D But on a more serious side, I know how frustrating it is to work so hard to keep your pups healthy and to have your praise come second hand. to you for taking such good care of Buddy! |

LOL Cindy I thought of that but felt guilty doing so because I was just ticked off:p You may be right though. |
Thanks for the Info ... I don't brush Maya's ... but maybe I should .... it is sooo hard over here to get stuff like that ..... |
where do I find this at? petsmart? on line? I brush but never heard of that brand of toothpaste good post by the way:thumbup: |

a spray or gel form. I know AMD (member) sells it. Check her out. It really does work along with daily brushing. You;ll be doing yourself and your pup a big favor keeping up with the teeth. |
Great compliment even if it was second hand.:D |
Carol what a great job you are doing on Archie's teeth.:D I just started Izzy on the Petzlife gel and spray and she is tiny and I do use a piece of gauze wrapped around my finger and massage her teeth and gums. I tried the baby toothbrush the rubber fingers and they were all too big for her little mouth. My finger works perfectly and in the beginning she would fuss but if you are consistant and do it every night they get used to it..trust me...now Izzy doesn't fight me anymore and it's only been a few days.:D I tell her like I used to tell my son when he was little...you'll thank me when you get older..hahaha...that she won't have to get dental work done. |
Glad to know it works so well. Sorry you had to get the compliment second hand, but atleast you know you're doing a great job. |

Good job Cyndi. Yes, you'll be so happy that her teeth will be healthy and hopefully prevent a dental in the future. Good for you to take care of her teeth. |

yea, what is a amd? Were do we find this suff? is it amway:confused: or what? |
Just went on their website. Which ones do you use, the spray and gel? Do you recommend getting a dental first or is it okay to start now? Pam |
lol 9 fingers lol how funny!! |

fearfull of the shhhh the spray makes but that's all I've used. Either does the job. Petzlife removes plaque if used properly so I would not get a dental done. I would do my best with this first. That's why I use it to prevent Buddy from going threw the dental and going under. One of our member's AMD I believe sells it on her site or go to PetzLife Products Inc - Products For a Healthier Pet and read up on it. I hope it works for you too. |

Good job on your fur babies teeth...at least with the second hand compliment...you know you are doing something right... I just started cleaning KiKi's teeth and LMTY it's not easy...she does not like it...I am using the rubber finger brush, which of course is too big for her mouth...she does like the toothpaste though and although I did not taste it...it smells like vanilla icing! YUMMY.... I try and do this every night at bedtime....I guess she will just have to get used to it...sooner or later....Please let it be sooner!!! |
A complement's a compliment. I'll bet he's like most men, you cut your hair and 8 months later he notices. Buddy's teeth aren't just a "beauty" asset, they are indeed a real health asset, and that probably dawned on him later. I suppose some vets are in it just for the money, but I really think the overall majority have a true love of animals, and would love to know about any product that worked this well. |
yay! congrats Buddy on you 'Hollywood' smile! lol:D I too use petzlife and brush too..hopefully pixie's teeth will always stay as clean too.. |
