submissive puppy? We have two 9 week old puppies the male is the biggest he is friendly and gives you lots of eye contact very vocal when he plays growls and the odd bark. Now the female is always wondering where big bother is and in a middle of a play session stops to go to big bother. Now she dosn't look you in the eye for more than a quick glance, longer look if she is across the room .He is very dominant it seems and she is submissive.Have any of you experienced this and what type of dog she will become as an adult? Will the owner become second stringer to the brother dog? I guess I'm trying to figure out what I may do to get her attention and two enjoy her more ,its really difficult to get her attention its very short when it comes to me. |
My male is the alpha my female is the follower. The submissive one. She will look you in the eye though. As they have gotten older this has not changed so your situation probably will not either. |
I am having this problem too. Roxy is showing signs of being submissive. 1. The second you pick her she is terrified. She is glued to you and is stiff and shows no signs of then fear. The second you put her down, it is night and day. 2. She will pee (and sometimespoop) when exicted or scared or just because. This submissive urination started about a month ago. 3. She does croach (sp) low to the gound, with ears back and tail curled under her butt. At will drop to the ground and roll on he side or back immediately for me (or anyone) including TJ! As far as her and TJ, I am confussed, they BOTH take turns at being in charge and being the other who is chasing and who is on top in wrestling, I don't know about them two? Although, TJ will go about his business and Roxy will ALWAYS have to look for him, she is always running back to where he is. Anyway, this is my NEW project. Trying to somehow get Roxy to have confidence and postive behavior. I can't have this submissive urination continue. Any suggestions and or advice is greatly appriciated? THANKS and Good Luck! |
