Roxie has a stuffed friend Ok I know this sounds odd, but my sweet lil puppy has a favorite stuffed bear. She humps it!! Is this odd or what? She's been spayed plus being female it throws me off. She also gets upset if one of the other dogs bother the bear. Does anyone elses sweet baby do this? :eek: |
My puppy only humps our dachshund, lol. But..she has a stuffed squeaky bunny she has to have in her crate with her at night. She likes to rest her head on it when she sleeps. Its so sweet. |

Would that stuffed bunny happen to be pink with a lable on the leg that says milkbone? Roxie has one, it was her first toy when I got her. She loves it! |
No, its one of those small AKC brand stuffed rabbits. Its tan. |
Sandy is 3 and she still has the first stuffed animal we bought for her. (A pink duck.) It was bigger than she was and she loved to snuggle with it. As she got a little older, she did the same thing your little girl is doing. This is the only stuffed animal she has ever done it to. And even though it has very little fur left in some areas, and it has been patched so many times, she will still do that every once in a while. |
its a dominance thing! i think people said that if the little one was spayed, it may help. but it doesn't always mean that it will! her humping is showing dominance! :rolleyes::p ;) Avie has a favorite toy.. it's her monkey! ;) i've heard of alot of furbabies having a favorite toy.. and sometimes they will do this, especially if the toy is on the bigger side(closer to the size of your yorkie);) i would just tell her no or let her know not to do that! :D |
They actually make toys just for this purpose, Joey fell for a big red Teddy Bear we named "Red." They had some wonderful times together, but a couple of months after Joey was neutered the romance ended. I'm told that humping is a sign of dominance, but hormones play an important role in behavioral issues. I read of other cases where the female displayed this activity. As long as they aren't humping a human, I wouldn't worry about it. |

Everyone's stories crack me up. Roxie was spayed at 6 months but she still does it. Doesn't bother me that she does this, she seems to really get into it. Her bear is much bigger then her and it's too funny to watch her with it. She ends up standing on the top of her head. I'll have to take a pic of this precarious position she gets into. She pants hard too. It's a riot! |
This is making me laugh so hard. Alot of aggressive females out there. My oldest female does that once in awhile to the other female that is alittle bigger than her. But that was what I was told she is showing her dominate state. She doesn't do it very often. Guess the bears bring out the bad in those girls. |
Blankie! My oldest baby's favorite thing is actually a blanket, not a toy! She sleeps curled up in her yellow blanket, and if you try to take it from her, she'll try to take it back until she gets it! I'll tell her.. "Get your blankie!" Its so cute but when its time to wash the blanket, she doesn't understand why mommy took her "blankie" away. :p |
Peanut used to have a yellow monkey, that we called "humpy monkey" He REALLY loved that monkey!! When Peanut died, we buried humpy monkey with Peanut. |

Crosley has just started doing this to the pillow that comes with the bed you see in my avatar! She's been doing it a few times day for the last few days. She's 6 1/2 and I guess she finally found love with a sheepskin pillow, jk :) I'm sure it's dominance with her, the two little ones rule her every move and this is the only thing she can control! Poor baby! |
Banjo has a large RED loofa dog that he got for Xmas! It was love at first sight! Guess he likes the redheads! LOL! He was a little over 3 months old! :eek: |
1 Attachment(s) Here is Zoeybear with Humpy Humperton. She "loved" Humpy from a very young age and spaying only slowed her a bit. This is her special friend. She never does it to Baby Chloe or anything else. I know some people think I should throw HH in the trash, but she loves him so. |
A friend of mine has a shi-peke and she's spayed also, but she takes the liner out of her kennel, folds it over in half and goes at it. She's 20 lbs, so it's hard to find a toy big enough for her to 'love' but the kennel liner seems to work well for her! |

Jamie has a seafoam green stuffed love puppy. Her name is "Lola". He drags her everywhere with him AND humps her. :rolleyes: She's worn out so I think we're gonna get him a new "Lola" for his birthday. That the only thing he humps and I do correct him when I see him doing it but I think its just dominance so I'm not toooo strict about it. |

No its not weird. London humps, she did it before she was spayed and now she still does it. She will hump any stuffed animal that is bigger than her, and she bites at it and growls if any of the dogs go near her lol I saw the movie sex and the city and the humping dog reminded me of her:rolleyes: |
