OMIGOD Pita was a scammers dog! I'm not sure what this means, I was trying to clarify Pita's Pedigree, which is really hard considering the paperwork I was given. The story goes like this... I got Pita from a lady in Coral Springs who was running an ad in the paper for puppies. I went in, her house was beautiful, she was very nice, down to earth everything was spotless. In her Laundry room she had 4 crates, one empty for her lil Yorkie, one with 2 maltese pups in it one with 2 baby boy yorkies and one with Pita. She was originally showing me the BIG boys which i didn't want and i saw Pita and asked about her and the lady (Cindy) said she has a cough and I asked if it was just kennel cough and she said yes and I said can I have her anyway and the lady said yes and i had 2 days to have her checked out by a vet. Anyway..Pita is perfectly perfect in every way and has no more cough. NOW when I went to see her Cindy tells me this is her mother inlaws hobby, breeding dogs, that her mother in law and some friends each have a bitch and they share the stud or something like that. I didn't care because Pita was meant for me and I knew it the minute I saw her. She is registered ACA which I was told by Cindy is transferrable to AKC which is not true, I was thinking of breeding her, because she has such a great personality and look about her that i would want another one of her and my family also would like puppies, so i was thinking of just once, ya know? SO I'm checkin out her papers and it says the name of her former owner was Adam Hernandez! Who has since been arrested for fraudulently selling sick and dying puppies. I did a google on his name and he's all over the internet for selling bad dogs!! At first I thought nah, different guy, but they said he uses fake vet certificates from Jose Romano , who is the signer on Pita's vet certificate   What a mess this could have been! I thought it was weird when I got her cuz there were so many different names involved on her paperwork and the story was kinda weird about the mother in law. Also they told me she'd been checked by a vet for the kennel cough but couldn't produce a receipt or anything. I didn't care, i tell you when I saw her she was mine, and it's not like she was the first dog I looked at. This could have been a disaster!! But what do you think if you 've read this far about me breeding her? I don't have a clue what her parents are like, i saw what Cindy said was a full sister to her from a former litter who was really beautiful but that could be a lie for all I know. Her parents are listed as Brenda Dog Toy and Micr Dog Toy on the certificate. I feel stupid for not researching further but it probly wouldn't have changed my mind anyhow.... |

Ok thanks! I will that helps me! |
I am sorry this is happening to you...I have gone through much the same thing! It is so frustrating an nerve wracking. I am glad Pita is okay though!!! |
I don't know a thing about breeding but I think a similiar situation happened to me,( other than the fraud thing). When I got Chloe from a private breeder in Atlanta, I was so impressed with the setting, clean, wonderful neighborhood, etc. saw the sire and dam on the premises, etc. All of the puppies were well socialized, clean and I wanted to buy all of them they were so cute. But, in the conversation, the lady let the name of a shop owned by her mom slip, although she caught herself quickly. I just had a funny feeling about the whole thing. Chloe is registered, I had a return policy and the breeder was adamant about spaying and returning the puppy for any reason, but later I came to the conclusion either she was trying to start breeding herself and this was her first litter or for some reason she was selling for her mom, or something. It just did not feel right to me, but I just loved Chloe and still bought her for $800. I might have been wrong but if I was right, I just would rather someone come out with it, between puppy mills, pet shops, inaccurate or deceptive classified ads and online scams, it sure is hard to feel comfortable buying. |
Sounds like you lucked out with Pita being nice and healthy! Apparently you were in the right place at the right time for you to get your special little girl. I love when you "just know" that is the one for you. I LOVE a happy ending! |
